In Thanh Hoa, in the first days of 2025, dozens of technical staff and workers worked diligently and urgently on the construction of a bridge project across the Ma River connecting National Highway 1 with National Highway 45 (from Hoang Kim commune, Hoang Hoa district to Thieu Long commune, Thieu Hoa district).
At the North-South Expressway project, Van Ninh - Cam Lo section (Quang Tri province), the construction atmosphere was bustling on New Year's Day. Taking advantage of favorable weather, units launched a campaign to start the new year, encouraging workers to stay at the construction site to construct the unfinished road sections.
Mr. Mai Quy Khanh - Deputy Head of Project Management Department 4, Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board - said that on New Year's Day, on the highway section through Quang Tri province, there were nearly 300 workers and many machines under construction.
In Quang Binh, although it was New Year's Day, contractors organized 75 construction teams at the key North-South Expressway project; mobilized about 635 pieces of equipment and machinery of all kinds. The total number of officers, engineers and workers participating in the construction was 1,455 people.
The Gian workers are taking the test on the North-South expressway through Le Thuy district. They said that every day, the unit works 3 shifts from morning to night. At noon, the workers take the opportunity to eat and rest, then stick to the road to do their work.
Working through the holidays to have a more fulfilling Tet
In Ninh Binh province, on many key projects, hundreds of workers are still working hard to ensure project progress.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh (from Lao Cai) who is working on the Cha La Bridge Project (in Hoa Lu City) shared that the company pays more for working on holidays than usual. Lunar New Year is approaching, so Mr. Thanh and many other workers want to take advantage of the opportunity to earn extra income to take care of their families.
While repairing Nghen Bridge on National Highway 1 in Can Loc District (Ha Tinh Province), worker Vo Ta Huy (43 years old, residing in Vinh City, Nghe An Province) of the Vinh City Bypass BOT Branch - said that the nature of bridge and road repairs must be completed as quickly as possible to ensure traffic flow, so on New Year's Day, workers still worked normally.
According to Mr. Phan Dinh Sy (56 years old, from Ha Tinh, a worker at Hoa Binh 479 Joint Stock Company) constructing a bridge over the Ma River in Thanh Hoa, Lunar New Year is coming, he hopes that in addition to paying salary, the company will have a high bonus so that workers have money for their families to buy Tet and celebrate Tet fully and comfortably.
