From dilapidated boarding houses to spacious shelters
During Workers' Month 2025, the Da Nang City Labor Federation will continue to implement many practical activities, aiming at workers. Of which, this unit will present 174 gifts, with a total cost of 380 million VND and 34 "Union Shelters" with a total cost of more than 1.22 billion VND.
Among those who received the "Union Shelter" was Ms. Hoang Thi Ha, a worker at Da Nang Urban Environment Joint Stock Company. After 12 years of working as an environmental sanitation worker, Ms. Ha, her husband and children have to live in a rented house. Her husband does not have a stable job, and the whole family has to rely on her small salary. For decades, the dream of a small house has always burned in the hearts of a hard-working woman.
When knowing that she was one of 34 workers awarded the Trade Union Shelter, Ms. Ha could not hide her emotions: "I am very happy and joyful to receive this "Trade Union Shelter". For many years, my family has had to live in a cramped, dilapidated rented house. Now, with a new, spacious house, I feel much more secure.
Another case that has touched many people is Ms. Phan Thi Hang, a worker in Da Nang. Ms. Hang has been fighting cervical cancer for the past 2 years. The burden of illness along with taking care of her husband and young children made her family's life even more difficult.
The support from the Da Nang City Labor Federation has partly eased the pain and gave Ms. Hang more determination in the fight against the disease.
Ms. Hang expressed: "Although the gift is not too big, at this time it not only provides material support but is also a great source of spiritual encouragement. Therefore, we are more confident in life, feel secure in working and contributing.

Efforts to care for the lives of workers

"The City Labor Federation also organized the "May Dialogue" program and the "Party with Workers - Workers with the Party" forum to prepare for the Party Congresses at all levels. This can raise awareness among workers in Workers' Month and Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene 2025.
