Images recorded by the dash cam show that at 6:31 a.m. on May 1, on the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway section through Cam Xuyen district, 4 buffaloes appeared in the right lane, of which 3 were standing, 1 was lying.
The image shared on social media made many people confused, expressing concern about unsafety, "too dangerous" when vehicles travel at high speeds, when suddenly a herd of buffalo appeared like this.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Nguyen Khac Trung - Director of the North - South Expressway Project Management Board, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang section - said that there was an incident of a herd of buffalo appearing on the expressway in Cam Xuyen district.
"I also heard that early this morning, a herd of buffaloes entered the expressway through Cam Xuyen district. I am directing the brothers to check from the beginning to the end of the route to see which fence the buffaloes come from to handle and fix it immediately," Mr. Trung shared.
As Lao Dong has reported, the North - South Eastern Expressway Project for the period 2021 - 2025 through Ha Tinh with 2 sections including Bai Vot - Ham Nghi (more than 35km long) and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang (more than 54km long) has opened the main route to traffic since 6:00 p.m. on April 28.
These two expressway component projects currently have 4 lanes, a roadbed width of 17m, and a minimum speed of 60km/h and a maximum of 90km/h. The completed phase will have 6 lanes, with a speed of 120km/h.
The two component projects mentioned above are both invested by the Thang Long Project Management Board, and started construction in January 2023.
