Her family doesn't go anywhere during these holidays. She spends the full 2 days at home cleaning the house, taking care of the children, and cooking more delicious meals for her family to make up for the working days of the year. On May 2, this female worker will return to work normally.
Similar to Ms. Cham, Ms. Nguyen Thi Duong - a worker at Quang Chau Industrial Park (Bac Giang) - also spent 2 days off with her family. After finishing the working day, she rode her motorbike back to Luc Ngan district.
"Because of living conditions, she had to be away from home, rent a room, and work as a worker in an industrial park. Usually every once or twice a week, she takes a motorbike back to her hometown to eat weekend meals with her husband and children" - Ms. Duong said.
"This holiday is worth twice as much time as the weekend, I have more time with my family. My family does not travel far away because we are afraid of spending and crowding. I just want to stay at home, rest, and take care of my children" - the female worker said. After 2 days off, she took a motorbike to Quang Chau Industrial Park to return to work.
According to the reporter's research, many businesses in Bac Giang province have 2 days off (April 30 and May 1). Many businesses will return to work on May 2.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien - Chairwoman of the grassroots union of BGG Yen The Garment Joint Stock Company (Yen The district, Bac Giang province) said that the company will not organize extra work during this holiday. The company's workers will have 2 full days off on April 30 and May 1.
According to Notice 6150/TB-BLDTBXH dated December 3, 2024 of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, during the April 30 and May 1 holidays in 2025, public sector workers will have 5 consecutive days off from Wednesday, April 30, 2025 to Sunday, May 4, 2025 ( make up for the Saturday, April 26, 2025).
For employees in the private sector, the number of days off will be decided by the employer based on the recommendations of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, ensuring at least 2 days off according to regulations.
