Workers hope to soon buy social housing in the new year

HCMC - Many workers hope that in the new year they will be able to buy or rent social housing, and have more policies to take care of union members and workers.

Strengthening preferential policies to support workers in buying houses

Mr. Nguyen Duc Tung - Nidec Vietnam Company (High-Tech Park, Ho Chi Minh City): In reality, many workers and laborers have difficulty buying social housing because their salaries and incomes are still low compared to housing prices.

Therefore, I really hope that in 2025, the State will increase preferential policies to support workers and laborers to access social housing, especially through programs to reduce loan interest rates, extend installment payment periods or support rent while waiting to buy a house.

The government also has additional financial support policies such as providing a 10%-15% subsidy package for the value of the house to help workers make a deposit, along with applying a lease-purchase model that allows workers to rent a house and pay in installments to own it, which will significantly reduce the initial financial burden.

Planning and construction of social housing should be prioritized in areas with a large number of workers and laborers to facilitate movement and reduce travel costs for workers.

At the same time, strengthen supervision of social housing distribution, ensure that workers with real needs are given priority to buy or rent, avoid speculation, buying and reselling for profit. At the same time, it is necessary to strictly control costs related to social housing, such as service fees and management fees in accordance with the average income of workers.

There are more long-term care programs for union members.

Mr. Pham Dinh Linh - Vianco Enterprise (District 5, Ho Chi Minh City): In recent times, the Party, the State, and the Trade Union have had many policies and guidelines, and implemented many practical activities to take care of union members, workers, and laborers in difficult circumstances.

These are extremely practical programs and gifts, meaningful both materially and spiritually. This demonstrates the care and concern of the Party, State, and Trade Union for the working class.

However, currently, the wages and income of workers are still low compared to the needs of life. Most workers still have to work overtime to have enough to spend and take care of their children.

Many workers still have to send their children back to their hometowns to be taken care of by their grandparents, which affects the children's development and family cohesion.

Therefore, I hope the Party and State will have many policies to continue developing the economy, improve regional minimum wages, and increase income for workers and laborers, especially those who work directly.

When the regional minimum wage increases, workers and laborers have less overtime and have more time to rest to maintain their health in the long term, and have more time to take care of their family and children.

The government also needs to invest in building more kindergartens and schools in areas where workers are concentrated, to help reduce separation between workers' families.

The Vietnam Trade Union also has additional long-term care programs for union members, workers, and laborers. In particular, it focuses on building social housing for workers to buy or rent to reduce the burden of life, and has additional support policies for workers to borrow from the CEP Microfinance Organization, helping them avoid black credit.

Hope to borrow capital to study and improve qualifications

Mr. Truong Thanh Tam - worker at Printing Joint Stock Company No. 7, Tan Tao Industrial Park: I am from Binh Dai district, Ben Tre province, and have been working in Ho Chi Minh City for more than 10 years. Although I am frugal in my daily life, I still have to rent a house to live in and have not been able to buy a house to live in, even if it is just a modest apartment, because the current housing prices in Ho Chi Minh City are very high compared to the income of workers.

Therefore, I also hope that the State and the Vietnam Trade Union will quickly promote the construction of many social houses for workers to rent or buy to stabilize their lives, thereby contributing to helping us stay with the business, as our ancestors have concluded "Settling down to find a career".

I am still studying at university to improve my qualifications and contribute to the business.

The company has a policy of encouraging employees to study to improve their qualifications, and will reward employees with 6 million VND if they graduate from university. However, due to low incomes of employees, many are worried that they will not be able to cover their tuition fees.

The industrial revolution with automation and artificial intelligence will have a rapid and huge impact on jobs, income, and workers' lives.

I hope the State has a policy to lend workers and laborers money to study to improve their qualifications, meet future needs, and ensure jobs and income.
