On August 9, at Hue Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company, the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union in coordination with Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (VINATEX) opened the 7th Vietnam Textile and Garment Industry Skilled Workers Contest - 2026, in the field of sewing and knitting.
The contest has 13 participating teams, competing with 2 products including polo shirts and t-shirts. In the practical competition, contestants must complete the requirements within 25 minutes.
Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tam - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union said that the contest aims to promote the movement of good labor, practicing skills, creating conditions for workers to consolidate knowledge, hone skills and exchange experiences.
Through this, workers have the opportunity to improve their professional qualifications, contributing to improving productivity and product quality at enterprises.
In the afternoon of the same day, the judges continued to judge the topic "Recycled Circulating Products".
According to the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union, the Vietnam Textile and Garment Industry Skilled Workers Contest is held every 5 years. This is an opportunity for workers in the industry to exchange, learn, improve professional skills, and at the same time discover and train skilled workers and typical factors in production labor.
The contest also aims to affirm the role of workers in the process of technological innovation, improving productivity and quality of Vietnam's Textile and Garment industry.
