On the afternoon of March 7, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the Nhu Thanh District Labor Federation (Thanh Hoa Province) said that thousands of workers of Akalia Vietnam Shoes Company Limited (located in Hai Xuan village, Hai Long commune, Nhu Thanh district) have returned to work normally.

"After the incident, representatives of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor, the Nhu Thanh District Federation of Labor and relevant agencies and local authorities came to the company to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of workers; at the same time, work with business representatives. By this morning (7.), after the company agreed to increase the salary by 6%, about 7,000 workers had returned to normal work" - a representative of the Nhu Thanh District Labor Federation informed.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at noon on March 6, thousands of workers at Akalia Vietnam Shoes Company Limited (in Hai Long Commune, Nhu Thanh District, Thanh Hoa Province) stopped working collectively to demand salary increases and overtime support.
According to the workers, in many cases, even though they have worked at the company for many years, their salary has not been increased.
In addition, the company used to have money for shift meals but now it has been cut. There are people who have worked for the company for 5 years but their salaries are still lower than some new employees.
It is known that in recent days, in some districts of Thanh Hoa province, there have been cases of workers collectively stopping work to demand salary increases.

According to the latest report, from March 1, 2025 to March 7, 2025, there were 10 companies in the province with 25,010 workers on hold. The two companies with 14,558 workers showed signs of quitting work, but thanks to the timely intervention of trade unions at all levels and local authorities, this situation was prevented.
The main reason for the collective work stoppage at the above companies comes from the workers' request to adjust the regional minimum wage increase...
In recent days, trade union officials at all levels, especially the Provincial Federation of Labor, have made efforts to protect the legitimate rights of workers and maintain production activities at enterprises at risk of collective work stoppages, said Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tuan - Head of the Policy and Law Department of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor.
