Communication on traffic safety at work
According to the Thai Binh Provincial Federation of Labor, in the third quarter of 2024, the Provincial Federation of Labor coordinated with trade unions at all levels to organize 5 communication classes on the Traffic Law, traffic safety work and some basic contents of the Labor Code at enterprises for more than 1,200 employees.
Previously, the Thai Binh Provincial Federation of Labor coordinated with the Thai Binh Provincial Traffic Safety Committee to organize communication on the Traffic Law and traffic safety work for nearly 300 employees of the Toyoda Gosei Hai Phong Co., Ltd. branch in Thai Binh.
Nearly 300 employees participating in the communication session listened to Mr. Le Phuong Huy - Chief of Office of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, convey an overview of the traffic accident situation that occurred in the province in the recent past. At the same time, information on the basic contents of the Traffic Law and traffic safety work in the area was provided. In particular, employees were able to watch and listen to analysis of real situations of traffic accidents, thereby helping employees understand and grasp ways to prevent and avoid risks when participating in traffic, limiting unfortunate accidents leading to injury or death.
Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet Dinh - Head of the Propaganda and Women's Union of Thai Binh Province Labor Federation - said that in order to reduce accidents involving workers as well as raise workers' sense of responsibility when participating in traffic, in recent years, the Provincial Labor Federation has regularly directed grassroots unions to promote propaganda work to ensure traffic safety for workers in many different forms, contributing to raising workers' sense of responsibility when participating in traffic.
Diversify forms of traffic safety propaganda
In addition to organizing direct communication classes at the workplace, many grassroots unions also organize through specific activities.
At Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd. - Thai Binh branch, a minigame "Creating traffic safety slogans" was organized for all employees of the company to participate, posted on Facebook. "Through the contest, it is an opportunity to encourage employees of the company to exchange, learn, create a healthy playground, gain more knowledge, and improve practical experience when participating in traffic. At the end of the minigame, 62 prizes were awarded to employees, including 58 in-kind gifts and 4 cash gifts" - Mr. Doan Van Nam - Chairman of the company's Trade Union - said.
In addition to organizing minigames on traffic safety, Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd. - Thai Binh branch also creates and carries out direct propaganda with slogans in the company's parking area on a monthly basis. The slogans are printed on billboards with vivid content and images such as "Obey the speed limit when driving", "If you want to be fast, you have to slow down", "Wear a helmet, don't make excuses", "Better to be a few seconds late than to cause an accident", "Don't drive after drinking alcohol"...
Ms. Luong Thi Thuy (worker of Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd. - Thai Binh branch) shared: “Every month, the company's Safety Committee stands holding a banner in the parking area, directly reminding us workers. When we go to the parking lot to get our vehicles to go home, the humorous slogans remind me to always remember to wear a helmet when driving a motorbike to ensure safety.”
