The project just started on August 19 with a total investment of about 874 billion VND with a scale of 6 social housing buildings from 9 to 15 floors, 1 commercial building of 15 floors, 1 kindergarten of 2,182m2 and a green landscape system. The apartments are designed to suit the living needs of workers' and laborers' families with average and low incomes.
The project is also planned synchronously with essential utilities: Community activity area in the Trade Union Institution area, children's playground, green park area, basic commercial service system, to build a civilized and safe living environment, which is convenient for residents.
Mr. Le Hoang Khang - a worker at Soc Trang Water Supply Joint Stock Company - said that he and his family have been waiting for this project for a long time. Currently, he and his wife and children live in a boarding house of about 20 square meters, costing more than 2.5 million VND/month.

According to Mr. Huynh Duc Dung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang Ward (Can Tho City), the ward currently has An Nghiep Industrial Park and many production and handicraft facilities, attracting thousands of workers to work and live. However, housing conditions for workers are still difficult and unstable; most of them have to rent a room in cramped conditions, lacking amenities, affecting their lives, health and long-term attachment to work.
The workers' housing project has a special significance when meeting the needs of safe, convenient and civilized accommodation for workers, contributing to stabilizing their lives, motivating work and long-term contributions. This is also the practical concern of the Party, State, government and businesses for the working class who directly create material wealth for society - Mr. Dung emphasized.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa - Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee - commented that this is the first social housing project in the old Soc Trang province and the 10th project of the new Can Tho City, contributing to solving the urgent need for housing, while improving the quality of life for workers.

This is the result of political determination, a commitment to action to realize the goal of "leaving no one behind" on the development journey of the new Can Tho City" - Mr. Hoa emphasized.
