Foreign language training, service skills
Phong Nha - Ke Bang Tourism Center has just coordinated with the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor and the 9th Technology Tourism College to organize the opening of an English class to communicate with union members and workers in the tourism industry. This is one of the activities in the plan to support vocational training and improve the capacity of union members and workers in 2025.
The class has 30 students who are photo shoot staff at famous tourist destinations. Students are equipped with basic communication skills such as greeting, introducing services, guiding guests and handling common situations with international tourists.
In addition, the program focuses on practicing communication style, friendliness and professionalism in service.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai - an employee of Phong Nha photo team expressed: "Previously, when I met foreign guests, I was often confused, I only dared to laugh and say goodbye and then went away because I was afraid of saying the wrong thing. After a few classes, I have grasped the greeting questions, how to introduce the service and basic instructions for customers. Now I can confidently chat, feeling much more mature.
According to Ms. Hai, the situation roles are the most attractive part, learners are treated as if they are working for real, and must immediately reflect in English. Although it has not yet passed, everyone is excited and encourages each other to try.
I believe that thanks to this class, workers at tourist attractions will serve international visitors better, contributing to promoting the image of friendly Quang Tri, said Ms. Hai.
Improving the quality of child care
Not only focusing on the tourism sector, the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor also coordinated with the No. 9 Tourism - Technology College to open 3 training courses on food processing techniques for 75 students who are caregivers, preschool and primary school caregivers.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Le - Van Ninh Kindergarten shared that many times when they cook according to their habits, they do not really pay attention to nutritional balance. In the class, she was specifically instructed on how to choose food and prepare it to be delicious and ensure nutrition for children. This is very practical because we apply it right to their daily meals.
Ms. Le emphasized: The valuable thing is to exchange experiences with colleagues at many other schools. We learn from each other from cooking to organizing meals more scientifically. I hope to have more courses like this so that the nurturing team will become more and more solid and confident in sticking with the profession".
Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor Phan Thanh Lan said that the Provincial Federation of Labor always considers training and fostering skills for union members and workers as a key task. Workers who want to feel secure in their contributions must have a solid job and good skills. The Trade Union will accompany them to do their job well and increase their income and professional position.
Mr. Lan added: Training classes like this not only create changes in skills, but more importantly, change in thinking. Workers know how to confidently stand in front of international visitors, know how to appreciate the work of raising children, and clearly see their role in the common development. That is the motivation for the union to continue expanding the model, meeting the increasingly diverse needs of union members".
