On August 26, according to Lao Dong's source, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee issued a document directing the organization of 2 teaching sessions/day for general education from the 2025-2026 school year.
According to the direction, the Department of Education and Training (DET) will preside over and coordinate with departments, branches and People's Committees of communes and wards to mobilize resources, ensuring the organization of 2 teaching sessions/day in accordance with actual conditions.
One of the key tasks is to review, arrange and regulate teachers between educational institutions, avoiding local surplus and shortage; at the same time, promote recruitment and signing of teaching contracts to promptly supplement the number of teachers still lacking.
At the same time, the province will prioritize investment in facilities, teaching equipment, multi-purpose houses, libraries, playgrounds, and training grounds, especially in remote, isolated, and border areas.
Policies to support preschool, primary and continuing education students in disadvantaged areas are also taken into account, ensuring fairness in access to education.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training to coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to build a mechanism to mobilize artisans, artists, and athletes to participate in educational activities in schools, especially in culture, arts, sports, and life skills.
This contributes to promoting local cultural values and increasing the attractiveness and efficiency of the teaching program.
In addition to the state budget, the province encourages organizations, businesses and individuals to participate in socialization, invest in building facilities and equipment for schools. All resource mobilization activities must ensure publicity, transparency, practicality and efficiency.
The People's Committees of communes and wards are assigned the task of closely coordinating with the education sector in reviewing and preparing implementation conditions; at the same time, urging, inspecting, and guiding educational institutions to develop specific plans, suitable to local conditions. Localities are also responsible for creating conditions for organizations and individuals to participate in educational support.
