On the occasion of the 96th Anniversary of the Vietnam Trade Union and the 80th Anniversary of National Day, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Federation of Labor launched the "Union Meal" program.
This is a meaningful activity, not only directly caring for the lives of workers but also affirming the important bridging role of the Trade Union organization.
After a short time of launching, the program has received enthusiastic response from all levels of trade unions in the province.
According to statistics, 101 trade unions successfully organized "Union Meals" for more than 73,000 union members and workers. Each meal is worth 50,000 VND or more, with total mobilized resources reaching nearly 3 billion VND. Of which, the Provincial Federation of Labor supported more than 171 million VND, the rest came from the cooperation of grassroots unions, enterprises and many other socialized sources.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen - a worker at Nui Phao Mineral Exploitation and Processing Company Limited - said: "I wish I could eat rice like this every day, the atmosphere was very cozy, everyone ate together, chatted together. It feels like family meals right at work".
According to Mr. Truong Tran Bao - Deputy General Director of the Mountainous Rural Development and Construction Company Limited, when the Trade Union proposed to organize a "Union Meal", the leadership was very supportive.
This is an occasion for connection between leaders and workers, creating a friendly atmosphere. At the same time, it also helps the company better understand the thoughts and aspirations of workers.
The highlight of the "Union Meal" program in Thai Nguyen this year is the creativity in the way it is organized in many units, creating an atmosphere of "Every meal is a happy day".
Instead of just organizing a simple meal, many Trade Unions have turned this into a real festival. Where workers are cared for in many diverse forms. Many meals combined with admission ceremonies for new union members, collective birthday programs, gifts for union members in difficult circumstances...
On these occasions, the Provincial Federation of Labor directly visited union members at the factories. At the same time, 175 gifts with a total value of 122.5 million VND were presented to encourage workers in difficulty.
Sharing about the significance of the program, Ms. Tran Thi Hong Thai - Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor - emphasized: "Union meal is not simply a meal. It has great spiritual significance, helping union members better feel the companionship and care of the trade union organization. This is a bridge connecting workers - Trade Unions - enterprises, contributing to building a harmonious, stable and progressive relationship".
Union Meal in Thai Nguyen spread a humane message, affirming the role of the Union organization as a companion, always caring for and protecting the rights of workers. At the same time, it is an important bridge to build harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.
