Ms. Nguyen Thi Oanh lost her job after the Lunar New Year 2025, after more than 13 years as an administrative employee at a kitchen equipment company in Thanh Xuan District (Hanoi).

Ms. Oanh asked relatives to introduce her job and go online to find a job, but after more than a month, there were still no positive signs. Shared by her former colleagues, Ms. Oanh participated in a job fair at the Ha Dong satellite job fair (144 Tran Phu, Ha Dong district, Hanoi), in mid-March 2025.

Ms. Oanh was recruited as an administrative staff at the first session she attended. I was so surprised and could not believe that I attended the session and was hired by a company, with a starting salary of 8.5 million VND/month. Luckily, my company is only more than 3km from my house, making it convenient to travel and pick up my children from school every day.

I also feel very secure and confident when participating in the job fair, because the atmosphere of the State agency is very regulating.

Before that, I had looked up some jobs online, but they all required a deposit; I went to some service companies and was forced to pay the initial fee, even though I didn't know if I could be accepted or not," said Ms. Oanh.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hao, born in 1997, decided to find a new job after 6 years as a real estate sales staff.

Graduating in finance, Mr. Hao wants to try his hand at a completely new job. Attending the job fair at the main floor (215 Trung Kinh street, Yen Hoa, Cau Giay, Hanoi) at the end of March 2025, Mr. Hao was immediately connected by a consultant with the employer.

After interviewing at the session, Mr. Hao was hired with a starting salary of 9 million VND/month, not including bonuses and other benefits. "The company gave me a plus point, because of my 6 years of experience in sales and good communication skills; I like the company because of its high welfare regime, the head office is less than 5km from where I live. In addition, being accepted as a specialist in the finance - accounting department, I am very excited because this is a completely new job, true to my wishes, said Mr. Hao.

Ms. Oanh and Mr. Hao are only 2 out of 717 workers recruited in Hanoi in March 2025, through job fairs at the main floor and 14 satellite floors organized by the Hanoi Employment Service Center.

Number that says it

According to the Hanoi Employment Service Center, in the first quarter of 2025, through 53 job fairs, the Center helped 116,150 workers receive job counseling; 12,875 workers were introduced to jobs and 2,665 workers were recruited.

At the 50 sessions, the number of participating enterprises in recruitment was 1,870 enterprises, bringing tens of thousands of recruitment targets to workers in the capital.

Mr. Vu Quang Thanh - Deputy Director of the Hanoi Employment Service Center - said that the Center currently focuses on organizing daily job fairs from Monday to Friday every week, synchronously on the system from the central platform connecting to 14 satellite platforms in districts and towns.

To improve the quality of the sessions, in addition to the general labor force attending the session, the Center also focuses on consulting and connecting jobs for the labor force enjoying unemployment insurance policies to conduct transactions at the center, supporting them in participating in job transactions.

Workers coming to the center will be provided with information about the labor market by professional staff, and consulted on job positions and professional skills so that they can apply and answer business interviews.

"The group of workers who enjoy unemployment insurance policies come to the platform to receive monthly job search notices, are introduced to jobs by job counselors, guided to participate in daily job fairs, connect with businesses, when they have a job position that suits the workers' job search aspirations, and can return to the labor market as soon as they successfully connect," said Mr. Vu Quang Thanh.
