In Da Nang, FPT Corporation has just inaugurated and put into operation the R&D Center for high technology and semiconductor chips at Software Park No. 2 - on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the City Liberation Day.

On this occasion, FPT made a commitment in 2025 to attract about 500 employees working in the field of high technology, semiconductor chips in Da Nang and realize the desire to produce semiconductor chips "Make in Vietnam". Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, General Director of FPT Group, said: "In the past 5 years, FPT has promoted the strategy of developing new technology products such as semiconductor chips, AI ... High -tech R&D Center and FPT semiconductor chip in Da Nang have been determined to become a" Tech Hub ", where" birth "high -tech products bearing the impression" Made by FPT - Make in Vietnam ". This will also research and develop 100% of Made by FPT products, expected on average every year, there will be 10 new products, becoming a destination to connect the startup in the region, share experiences and replicate startup culture, innovate innovation to the business community ”.

Resolution 57 will promote and consider science, technology and innovation as a new driving force for socio-economic development, Da Nang is on the right track and now needs many more corporations not only FPT.

Focus on training high-quality human resources

Resolution 136 passed by the National Assembly on June 26, 2024 has opened up new development space for Da Nang, especially in attracting strategic investors in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industries. The city is becoming an attractive destination for investors, IT and AI engineers.

If in 2023, Da Nang city only had 9 chip design enterprises, now it has increased to 21. In addition, there are also businesses that packaged advanced packaging, tested semiconductors, and gradually formed a semiconductor ecosystem.

Mr. Le Hoang Phuc - Director of the Center for Research, Training, microchip Design and Artificial Intelligence of Da Nang City - said that currently, at Da Nang Software Park No. 2, there are nearly 20 startup projects on AI, semiconductor chips affirming the attraction of Da Nang: "There are many potential startups that have come and are starting a business in Da Nang City. We have high expectations for a bright future in this field in the coming time.

Da Nang also sets clear goals and solutions for human resource training. In particular, the goal is that by 2030, the digital economy will contribute 35-40% of GRDP to Da Nang and have at least 5,000 talented engineers in the field of microchips and semiconductors, including 2,000 design engineers and 3,000 packaging and testing engineers and technicians.

To achieve the above goal, Da Nang has synchronously implemented many solutions, including prioritizing the development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation - identified as the top breakthrough, the main driving force for socio-economic development. The city promotes support for research and technology development in the fields of microchips, semiconductors and AI; focuses on training high-quality human resources; builds specific policies to attract domestic and foreign technology enterprises; and at the same time, completes technology infrastructure to serve industry development.

With strong strategic orientation, support policies and investment, Da Nang is gradually affirming its position as a high-tech center of the region. The development of the semiconductor and AI microchip industry not only opens up new opportunities for the city but also contributes to the national development in the digital age.
