Equipping skills at the grassroots level
Responding to the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in 2026, on May 12, the Board of Directors and the grassroots Trade Union of Dien Bien School Equipment and Book Joint Stock Company coordinated with the Fire and Rescue Police Department (Dien Bien Provincial Police) to organize a fire fighting and rescue drill for all officials, employees and workers in the unit.
The drill aims to directly raise awareness and compliance with fire prevention and fighting regulations for union members and workers.

Specifically, workers have been equipped with essential skills to quickly and safely handle situations when fires, explosions, or emergency incidents occur.
The activity also promotes the role of coordination between professional departments and trade union organizations in caring for and protecting the safety of life and health of workers.
To the provincial level playground
As part of the series of activities of the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health, on May 15 and 16, the Dien Bien Provincial Labor Federation will organize the 2026 Excellent Occupational Safety and Health Workers Contest of the Provincial Trade Union.
The contest has the participation of 10 teams from grassroots trade unions in the province such as: CĐCS Dien Bien Water Supply Joint Stock Company, CĐCS Center for Disease Control, CĐCS Provincial General Hospital....
According to the Organizing Committee, contestants will compete through 3 attractive competitions including: Introduction section, Knowledge section and Practice operation section.
In which, the knowledge test will focus on legal knowledge and guiding documents on occupational safety and health, fire prevention and fighting, and rescue.
In particular, the practical competition on OSH and Fire Prevention and Fighting - Rescue skills will be held on the field at the provincial stadium on the morning of May 16.
This will be an opportunity for union members, workers and trade union officials to promote exchanges, learning, sharing good experiences and effective operating models in occupational safety and health and fire prevention and fighting at units.

Previously (May 8) at the launching ceremony of the Action Month for Occupational Safety and Health and Workers' Month 2026, Mr. Nguyen Van Doat - Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee - said that the risk of occupational unsafety is still present; labor accidents and fires and explosions still occur.
Mr. Doat also emphasized: "Occupational safety must shift from passive handling to proactive prevention; from management based on experience to management based on technology and data.
Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee said that it is necessary to gradually digitize labor safety management, build databases, apply technology in monitoring and early risk warning, towards a safe, smart, and modern working environment.
Along with that is to make labor safety a mandatory requirement, a criterion for evaluating the level of task completion of agencies, units, and enterprises.
