Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tan Minh Long - Chairman of the Dien Bien Provincial Federation of Labor said that in general, over the past year, workers, civil servants and laborers have had jobs and relatively stable lives. Many businesses have paid attention to the material and spiritual lives of workers, with the average income of the administrative sector being about 7 million VND/person/month.
Currently, the province has 31,410 union members/34,033 workers and civil servants, operating in 942 grassroots unions. Unions at all levels have proactively coordinated with specialized units, mobilized resources to organize visits and encourage union members and workers on the occasion of Lunar New Year. In 2024, nearly 25,500 gifts were given with a total value of over 12 billion VND.
In addition, trade unions at all levels mobilized nearly 5 billion VND from socialized sources to build public housing for teachers, boarding houses and buy other essential supplies to ensure teaching needs and daily activities.
In particular, on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the Provincial Labor Federations and Central Trade Unions organized many practical activities towards Dien Bien.
"In 2025, the Dien Bien Provincial Federation of Labor will focus on developing union members, establishing grassroots unions; participating in building a clean and strong Party." In the 7 key tasks, the focus will be on performing well the function of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers," Mr. Tan Minh Long emphasized.
At the conference, delegates divided into discussion groups to clarify difficulties and limitations, and propose solutions to overcome them. At the same time, they shared good and creative ways to build movements and organize trade union activities.
On this occasion, the Dien Bien Provincial Federation of Labor awarded Certificates of Merit to 50 collectives and 64 individuals with achievements in the emulation movement and trade union activities in 2024. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded the Creative Labor Certificate to 1 individual; awarded a Certificate of Merit to 1 individual with outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement.
