Dien Bien spends nearly 7 billion to support housing construction for meritorious people

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Bien province has just decided to spend nearly 7 billion VND to support housing for 169 families with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs.

Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee Le Thanh Do signed a decision approving the housing support project for people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs in Dien Bien province in 2025.

Accordingly, 169 families of people with revolutionary contributions and martyrs’ relatives are eligible for housing support, of which 56 households will be newly built and 113 households will be repaired. The support level is 60 million VND/household for new construction and 30 million VND/household for renovation and repair.

The total cost of the project is 6,783 billion VND from the central and local budgets, capital mobilized from the community, clans and contributions from supported families. The project is expected to be implemented and completed in 2025.

Specifically, the supported subjects include: revolutionary activists before January 1, 1945; revolutionary activists from January 1, 1945 to the August 1945 uprising; Vietnamese heroic mothers; heroes of the People's Armed Forces; Labor heroes during the resistance war; wounded soldiers; sick soldiers; resistance activists infected with toxic chemicals...

In the case of houses that must be demolished for reconstruction, the minimum usable area must be 30 m².Newly built houses must ensure "3 hard" (hard foundation; hard frame, hard wall; hard roof), with a minimum durability of 20 years.

In the case of houses that must repair the frame, walls and replace the roof, the "2 hard" standard must be ensured (hard frame, hard wall; hard roof).
