On the afternoon of March 6, during a visit and working session in Quang Tri, a high-ranking delegation of the Cuban Workers' Center (CTC) including Mr. Rogelio Polanco Fuentes - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam; Ms. Isdalis Rodriguez Rodriguez - Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Deputy General Secretary of the CTC, National Assembly delegates, People's Government of Cuba and a number of members came to pay a warm welcome to the leaders of Quang Tri province.
Also attending was Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Receiving the delegation were Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Hoang Duc Thang - Deputy Head of the delegation, in charge of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Chairman of the Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Association; Mr. Hoang Nam - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of a number of related departments, branches and units.
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang emphasized that the people of Quang Tri always remember the special affection that the Communist Party and people of Cuba have for Quang Tri in the struggle for independence. Mr. Rogelio Polanco Fuentes thanked the valuable material and spiritual help of the people of Quang Tri to the Cuban people in the past time. Cuba highly appreciates Quang Tri's name for Fidel Park in the center of Dong Ha City (Quang Tri Province), which is a testament to Quang Tri's affection for Cuba and leader Fidel Castro.
On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, this relationship has entered a new phase: comprehensive, substantive, effective and sustainable cooperation for the two countries to develop further. Mr. Rogelio Polanco Fuentes expressed his hope that this visit and working session will strengthen the relationship between the high-ranking delegation of CTC and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Next, the high-ranking delegation of the CTC visited Fidel Park to offer flowers, visit the Provisional Revolutionary Government Headquarters of South Vietnam in Cam Lo District (Quang Tri Province) and some historical sites in Vinh Linh District (Quang Tri Province).
