The President highly appreciated the special relationship between Vietnam and Cuba

President Luong Cuong received Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, highly appreciating the special relationship between Vietnam and Cuba.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that on the afternoon of February 19, 2025, at the Presidential Palace, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong received Politburo member and Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla during a working visit to Vietnam from February 18-20, 2025.

At the meeting, President Luong Cuong welcomed Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla back to visit Vietnam, thereby contributing to strengthening and deepening the comrade and brotherhood relationship between the two countries.

The President affirmed that generations of Vietnamese people always deeply remember and appreciate the selfless support that Cuba has given to Vietnam in the difficult moments of the past struggle for national liberation; Vietnam always closely follows the situation of Cuba, shares Cuba's difficulties and expressed confidence that the heroic Cuba will overcome all challenges and continue to achieve new victories in the cause of protecting and building the country.

The President highly appreciated the positive development of the special relations between Vietnam and Cuba; was pleased that the ministries and branches of both sides have closely coordinated to implement the results of General Secretary To Lam's State visit to Cuba in September 2024, especially new directions in bilateral cooperation.

The President suggested that the two sides continue to promote exchanges of high-level delegations; regularly exchang and coordinate to effectively implement agreed agreements between the two sides; promote dialogue and cooperation mechanisms between the two countries as well as strengthen cooperation at multilateral forums.

The President suggested that the two sides regularly propagate and educate the younger generations of the two countries about the 65-year tradition of exemplary relations founded by President Ho Chi Minh and leader Fidel Castro and nurtured by many generations of leaders and people of the two countries.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla respectfully thanked President Luong Cuong for taking the time to receive the delegation; affirmed that the Party, State and people of Cuba always appreciate the unwavering solidarity and spiritual and material support of the Party, State and people of Vietnam for Cuba; affirmed Cuba's determination to make economic, trade, investment and other areas of cooperation between the two countries increasingly in-depth and effective commensurate with the special political relationship.

The Cuban Foreign Minister respectfully conveyed the warmest greetings of General Raul Castro, First Secretary, President of Cuba Miguel Diaz Canel and senior Cuban leaders to President Luong Cuong and senior Vietnamese leaders; congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic development achievements; affirmed his desire to continue exchanging experiences and cooperating with Vietnam on all channels and fields, for the development of each country, contributing to peace, stability and cooperation in the region and the world.

President Luong Cuong conveyed his warm regards and greetings to General Raul Castro, First Secretary, President of Cuba Miguel Diaz Canel and senior Cuban leaders.
