Towards the 116th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 1910 - March 8, 2026), the 1986th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising and to celebrate the election of National Assembly deputies of the XVI term, deputies of People's Councils at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term, the Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation launched the 2026 Ao Dai Week in Trade Union levels in the province.
The activity aims to continue to spread the value of Ao Dai - the traditional costume of Vietnamese women; arouse pride, awareness of preserving and promoting national cultural identity among union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers. This is also an opportunity to honor the graceful and elegant beauty of Vietnamese women in life and in labor and production.

Accordingly, grassroots Trade Unions mobilize and encourage female union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers to wear ao dai on working days, suitable for the conditions and characteristics of work. The response period takes place from March 1 to the end of March 8, 2026; in which March 6 is chosen as the day to wear ao dai uniformly to create highlights and contribute to strongly spreading the beautiful image of female union members in traditional ao dai.

Immediately after the launch, many grassroots Trade Unions proactively propagated and mobilized union members and workers to actively participate. The atmosphere of response took place sôi nổi at administrative agencies, public service units, schools, businesses and industrial parks in the province.
In the early days of March, images of female union members in traditional ao dai appeared more and more at workplaces, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere. At many agencies, units and businesses, ao dai wearing activities were organized simultaneously, creating beautiful, graceful and solemn images in the office.

Many units also combine taking souvenir photos, sharing them on information channels and social networks of the Trade Union, thereby widely spreading the image of Dong Thap female union members gracefully in ao dai.

Many grassroots Trade Unions also organize the program "Giving Ao Dai - Sending Love, Preserving Traditional Beauty" for female workers and children of workers in difficult circumstances. The donated Ao Dai not only carries material meaning but also shows the sharing and concern of the Trade Union organization, contributing to encouraging female union members to be more confident in life and work.

Through practical and meaningful activities, Ao Dai Week not only honors the beauty of Vietnamese women but also contributes to raising awareness of union members and workers about preserving and promoting national cultural identity.

Ms. Ngo Thi Thuy Trang - Vice President of the Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation - said: "Ao Dai Week has received positive responses from female union members and workers at many units and businesses in the province. Through this activity, the image of Dong Thap women in traditional ao dai is widely spread, contributing to honoring the beauty of Vietnamese women, creating a joyful and cohesive atmosphere in agencies, units, and businesses".
