Thousands of job opportunities
According to the Can Tho City Employment Service Center (DVVL), there are currently 122 enterprises in need of recruiting workers at the end of 2024 with 4,399 vacant jobs. The positions to be recruited are diverse and abundant such as production workers, general workers, fruit processing workers, security guards, interns, sewing workers, physical therapy technicians, sales staff, production operators, accountants, warehouse staff, mechanics, sample sewing technicians, postal operators, admission consultants, office staff, sales staff, etc.
At the Dong Thap Provincial Employment Service Center, it is estimated that from now until the end of the year, 1,500 unskilled workers and 160 trained workers will be needed to work at enterprises in the province. In addition to domestic employment opportunities, the Center will advise and support workers to work abroad under contracts.
At the same time, An Giang province is also stepping up recruitment of workers in the processing and manufacturing industries; retail; auto and motorbike repair; agriculture, forestry and fishery; construction;...
Talking to Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Van Toan - Director of Can Tho City Employment Service Center - said that when workers come to participate directly at Can Tho Center, they will also be consulted on job search skills, application skills, CV writing, image building skills in front of employers, interview skills; advice and introduction of jobs at home and abroad; and participate in a sharing session on things to note when interviewing with employers.
Director of Dong Thap Provincial Employment Service Center Nguyen Phu Hieu informed that in order to fulfill its role of advising and supporting workers, the Center always promotes propaganda and consulting work, especially providing temporary labor to work domestically and abroad.
Consider before changing jobs
Mr. Nguyen Van Ut (Can Tho City) said that he quit his job in June because the working environment was not suitable and the salary was not as expected. Luckily, in early October, he applied to a garment company and was hired immediately, without requiring skills, with reasonable benefits and salary.
At this time, some workers also seize the opportunity to change jobs, a typical example is the case of Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh (name changed) in Can Tho. Mr. Thanh stated: “The recruitment demand is very high, it is the right time for me to change jobs that I have no longer been interested in. Currently, I proactively access social networking sites and websites to find jobs.”

From the perspective of the authorities accompanying the workers, the employment service centers in the Mekong Delta region continue to advise that workers need to cherish new job opportunities and be cautious when changing jobs. Workers also need to carefully study the conditions of qualifications, experience, income, and job stability before making a decision to change.
Besides the advantages such as experiencing a new working environment, gaining more information and knowledge, meeting new businesses and people, increasing income,... changing jobs also has many limitations such as difficulty in building achievements and reputation for oneself, losing relationships and development at the old company.
Advice for workers changing jobs, especially young people, is to determine the right time to change jobs, have a clear plan and new direction...
