From dialogue to cool mid-shift rest area

Working at Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Di An ward, Ho Chi Minh City), every noon, after lunch, Ms. Pham Thi Lan comes to the adjacent space of the canteen to drink water and chat with colleagues. Ms. Lan said that this is a mid-shift rest area newly implemented by the company.

After lunch, workers really need space to rest and regenerate labor. Since the company opened this area, every noon we have a place to sit to drink water and relax. I really like this space" - Ms. Pham Thi Lan shared.

Representatives of Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. informed that the above project is the result of a dialogue program with businesses in July 2025. Union members and grassroots trade unions exchanged and proposed to business leaders about building a mid-shift rest space, creating convenience for workers. After that, business leaders received the proposal and invested in implementing this project. Since being put into use, the project has received positive response from workers, becoming a familiar relaxation place after each working hour.

The Company's Trade Union informs that the company maintains an annual dialogue program with employees. Through this program, employees have space to frankly exchange outstanding issues. Through this, businesses also offer solutions to arising problems.

According to Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet Nhung - Chairwoman of the Company's Grassroots Trade Union, in 2026, the Grassroots Trade Union just organized a worker conference. The program continues to include a dialogue between workers and business leaders. At this year's conference, workers continued to propose that the company improve the factory space to be more airy, install more canopies, and adjust movement management in the company to make it more convenient for workers. Company representatives exchanged and responded to workers' recommendations. Thereby building a clean, airy working environment, ensuring safety and convenience for workers.

Morning coffee connects union members with Trade Unions and local leaders

In recent months, the "Morning Coffee" model has been organized in many localities in the Northern region of Ho Chi Minh City. Commune and ward trade unions have proactively coordinated with local management teams of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation and localities to organize this program. The model has gradually become a forum for workers and trade union officials to express their recommendations and aspirations.

In Lai Thieu ward, the Ward Trade Union coordinated with Working Group No. 4 of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation to organize "Morning Coffee - Listening to Union members and workers speak". The program attracted a large number of union members and trade union officials in Thuan An and Di An areas to participate.

The Lai Thieu Ward Trade Union said that at the program, delegates exchanged many issues related to trade union activities, jobs and the lives of workers.

Mr. Mai Phu Hung - Vice Chairman of the grassroots trade union of Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. - also participated in the program and exchanged recommendations on 4 groups of issues. "At the morning coffee program, I proposed to local leaders and leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation issues such as: Improving the quality of health checks for union members, paying union dues, trade union professional training and introducing outstanding union members to the Party. The issues have been answered satisfactorily by agencies and units" - Mr. Hung shared. According to Mr. Mai Phu Hung, the process of operating and implementing new legal regulations will arise issues that need to be resolved. Therefore, it is necessary to periodically organize meeting programs to solve issues related to jobs and the lives of workers.

According to Ms. Nguyen Kim Loan - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, the "Morning Coffee" program is being organized in many localities. The quality of the program is increasingly improved, showing the spirit of focusing on grassroots levels, taking union members and workers as the center. Through the program, units listen to aspirations and problems arising in the operation of grassroots trade unions, especially newly established units after implementing organizational structure arrangements.
