According to the Organizing Committee, the Sports Festival aims to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the 97th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union and the 72nd anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Electricity Industry. At the same time, promoting the movement to exercise health, strengthen solidarity, and contribute to successfully completing assigned tasks.
The sports festival gathered nearly 380 athletes from 11 units directly under the Corporation, competing in the following sports: tennis, badminton, table tennis, men's mini-football, 1-string carom billiards, pickleball and swimming.
Mr. Ngo Viet Hung - Deputy General Director of Power Generation Corporation 2, Head of the Steering Committee of the 2026 Sports Festival informed that the atmosphere of the Sports Festival has been exciting from the days before the opening. Athletes gathered at the competition venue, actively practicing with a serious, enthusiastic and high determination spirit.
Through surveys and witnessing training and competition sessions, Mr. Ngo Viet Hung assessed that the athletes all showed concentration and enthusiasm. On the opening day, the atmosphere became even more exciting, and the athletes eagerly participated in the Sports Festival taking place in two days (August 26-27).
Mr. Bui Van Thang - Chairman of the Trade Union of Power Generation Corporation 2 said that the Sports Festival not only creates a playground for health training but also contributes to spreading the spirit of solidarity and enthusiasm in the team of workers and employees.
When temporarily leaving the shift and working position to participate in the Sports Festival, the athletes all competed wholeheartedly. The exciting and united atmosphere at the Sports Festival will add motivation and create a positive atmosphere when workers return to work," the Chairman of the Trade Union of Power Generation Corporation 2 stated clearly.
In addition to sports activities, the Trade Union of Power Generation Corporation 2 also coordinates with relevant units to organize many activities such as: art performances; competitions on occupational safety and hygiene,... Activities are maintained periodically, creating conditions for workers to exchange, improve spiritual life and practice health.
Mr. Bui Van Thang said that after the Sports Festival, the health training movement at units will certainly develop more strongly. According to him, the specific nature of the Electricity industry has many officials and employees working in shifts or at factories in remote and isolated areas, so maintaining training faces many difficulties. Therefore, the Trade Union coordinates with professional departments to create playgrounds and training locations near workplaces, helping workers have conditions to train their health outside of operating and production hours.
Mr. Doan Duc Toan (athlete of the Hai Phong Thermal Power Joint Stock Company delegation) said that participating in the Sports Festival in a joyful and comfortable atmosphere, he clearly felt the connection and exchange between workers of the units. According to him, although initially he was a bit unfamiliar, the more he participated, the more confident he became and integrated with athletes from other units.
Here, Mr. Toan expressed his wish that the Corporation would continue to pay attention to, maintain and organize many exchange and sports activities annually, thereby creating a useful playground, encouraging officials and employees, strengthening solidarity and contributing to successfully completing the assigned production and business tasks.
