On May 24, Bau Bang Commune Trade Union (HCMC) held the opening ceremony of the "Bau Bang Commune Badminton Tournament for workers, civil servants, and laborers in 2026".
Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Dang Tan Dat - Member of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, Head of Area Management Working Group No. 9, Mr. Nguyen Tan Nam - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Quan - Deputy Director of the Commune Service Supply Center;
Mr. Luu The Thuan - Chairman of Bau Bang Commune Trade Union said that to celebrate the success of the 11th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2026 – 2031 and towards the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, in response to Workers' Month 2026, the Badminton Tournament attracted 13 agencies, units, and businesses under Bau Bang Commune Trade Union to participate in the competition. Nearly 80 athletes participated in the competition with direct elimination in 5 categories including: men's doubles, women's doubles, mixed doubles – women's doubles, men's singles and women's singles.

The matches take place with a spirit of solidarity, honesty, nobility, dedicating many beautiful and attractive bridge moves to the audience. At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee will award first, second, third, and consolation prizes for each competition content.
According to Mr. Luu The Thuan, this is a practically meaningful sports activity to create a healthy and useful playground for union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers after working hours. Thereby, contributing to improving spiritual and cultural life, and practicing health according to Uncle Ho's example.
Bau Bang Commune Trade Union said that the badminton tournament for workers, civil servants, and laborers of Bau Bang commune will become an annual traditional activity. Creating motivation to promote the sports movement to develop more and more deeply in the team of union members and laborers in the locality. At the same time, through the tournament, Bau Bang Commune Trade Union continues to affirm its role in caring for the material and spiritual life of union members and laborers; contributing to building a united, dynamic and sustainable working environment.
