After establishment, Quy Nhon Nam Ward Trade Union managed 66 grassroots trade unions (CDCS) with 7,218 union members.
The Gia Lai Provincial Federation of Labor also announced the decision to appoint the Executive Committee and Chairman of the Quy Nhon Nam Ward Trade Union for the 2023 - 2028 term.
Accordingly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Nguyet - Deputy Chief of Office of the Quy Nhon Nam Ward Party Committee - was appointed to hold the position of Chairwoman of the Quy Nhon Nam Ward Trade Union; the Executive Committee consisted of 7 people.
Previously, the Gia Lai Provincial Federation of Labor announced the decision to establish 3 commune unions: Phu Cat, Phu My and Tay Son; 3 ward unions: Quy Nhon Bac, Quy Nhon Dong and Hoai Nhon Nam.
Up to now, the Gia Lai Provincial Federation of Labor has established 7 commune and ward unions (before the merger, the old Gia Lai Provincial Federation of Labor had established 4 ward unions).
The establishment of commune and ward trade unions is an important policy of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, aiming to practically protect the rights of workers, especially workers in the non-state sector and informal workers.
The grassroots trade unions will directly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of workers, provide legal advice, and mediate labor conflicts right from the grassroots, helping to reduce complicated complaints. At the same time, coordinate with local authorities to inspect the implementation of wages, working hours and regulations on labor safety and hygiene.
Commune and ward trade unions are also places to propagate, mobilize, organize cultural and sports activities, care for the material and spiritual life of workers, contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations right from the grassroots.
