Ms. Le Huyen Anh (29 years old, Hanoi) has just completed the procedures for receiving the first unemployment benefit at the Hanoi Employment Service Center, with a subsidy of more than 3 million VND per month.
I used to work as an accountant for a furniture company. Recently, the company has encountered difficulties due to a decrease in the number of customers, so it has had to cut staff. I lost my job for nearly 2 months and have not yet found a new job. Accounting is now less recruited, I am considering switching to another profession, Ms. Huyen Anh shared.
According to the Hanoi Employment Service Center, in June 2025, the unit received more than 8,000 applications for unemployment benefits, an increase of about 14.8% compared to the previous month. The group of workers aged 25 - 34 and 35 - 54 accounts for a large proportion of the total number of records, reflecting that the labor market still has many potential fluctuations, and the risk of unemployment is still high.

Mr. Vu Quang Thanh - Deputy Director of the Hanoi Employment Service Center said: "Currently, workers in industries such as textiles, footwear, wood furniture, furniture, electronic components, especially unskilled workers, are facing the risk of being cut. However, some sectors such as trade - services and tourism are showing signs of recovery and are expected to continue to grow in the coming time".
In order to support recruitment businesses and workers in finding jobs, in August 2025, the Center will organize daily job fairs, along with thematic sessions at the University of Commerce and Chengdu University. At the same time, the Center continues to improve the quality and efficiency of job fairs, while completing the online information portal to optimize the connection between labor supply and demand.

In addition, the center is promoting the organization of online job fairs connecting with 6 northern provinces and cities, contributing to connecting the labor market and effectively exploiting the labor supply in localities. These trading sessions have brought positive results, supporting workers to find suitable jobs and helping businesses recruit the right people according to their needs.
In reality, although the labor market shows signs of recovery, the risk of job loss still exists, especially for unskilled workers in industries that depend heavily on labor. In that context, maintaining unemployment benefits, expanding job fairs and promoting job conversion are practical solutions, contributing to supporting workers to stabilize their lives and soon return to the job market.
