On the afternoon of September 11, at the Hoa Binh Provincial Federation of Labor, the working delegation of the Standing Committee of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor worked with the leaders of Hoa Binh province on leadership and direction of union member development and establishment of grassroots unions at the Hoa Binh Provincial Federation of Labor.
Working with the delegation, on the side of Hoa Binh province, there were Mr. Bui Tien Luc, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization; Mr. Quach Tat Liem - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of departments and branches.
Reporting to the working delegation, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Chairman of the Hoa Binh Provincial Federation of Labor said that the whole province has nearly 78,000 workers, civil servants, and laborers, with about 67,000 people belonging to units with trade unions under the management of the Provincial Federation of Labor. The total number of grassroots trade unions is 1,066, with nearly 65,000 union members. The whole Hoa Binh province currently has 795 enterprises, of which 167 enterprises do not have trade unions.
Since the beginning of 2024, trade union organizations in Hoa Binh province have developed 2,480 new union members and established 13 new grassroots unions.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Bui Tien Luc, Head of the Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization, hoped that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor would pay attention to allocating quotas for full-time union staff, ensuring sufficient quantity, to improve the quality of activities.
At the same time, it is recommended that the Hoa Binh Provincial Federation of Labor take more care of workers, civil servants, and laborers, especially paying attention to the grassroots union cadres.
After listening to the delegates asking questions, contributing many ideas and specific solutions, on behalf of the working delegation, giving a concluding speech at the working session, Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - praised the Hoa Binh Provincial Confederation of Labor for achieving impressive results in developing union members and establishing new grassroots unions.
The Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor requested that trade union organizations raise awareness, shift from representation to protection and care for union members and workers. Strengthen legal dissemination for union members and workers.
Coordinate with sectors and localities in developing union members and establishing grassroots unions. Propaganda and mobilization to help workers better understand the importance of trade unions.
The Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor emphasized that it is necessary to consider the development of union members as a vital task of trade union organizations.
At the same time, the Hoa Binh Provincial Federation of Labor is requested to prepare a good plan to take care of the 2025 Tet holiday for union members and workers. One thing that needs to be done immediately is to mobilize workers, civil servants and laborers in Hoa Binh province to support people affected by storm No. 3.
Earlier, on the same morning, the working delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor led by Ms. Thai Thu Xuong, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, worked with the Hoa Binh City Labor Federation on the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions in 2024.
