On August 29, Ms. Duong Thi Minh Chau - Head of the Propaganda and Support Department for BHXH participants of Hanoi City - said that in the past time, Vietnam Social Security (BHXH) has directed that the BHXH agency of Hanoi City directly transfer money to pay pensions and social insurance allowances monthly through personal accounts to beneficiaries.
Accordingly, the schedule for paying pensions and social insurance allowances through personal accounts to beneficiaries in Hanoi is on the 2nd working day of the month.
Regarding the payment of pensions and social insurance allowances for beneficiaries in the Capital in September 2026, Ms. Duong Thi Minh Chau - Head of the Propaganda and Support Department for Social Insurance Participants of Hanoi City - said: "According to the announcement of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the National Day holiday of September 2, 2026, employees are entitled to 2 days off including September 1 and September 2. However, due to the application of working day swaps, this holiday lasts 5 consecutive days from August 29 to September 2 (including both weekend days off, i.e. from Saturday to the end of the following Wednesday). This holiday schedule applies to officials, civil servants, and public employees. Businesses are also encouraged to take leave in this direction.

From September 28, 2026: Pensions and social insurance allowances can be received through the Social Security Benefit Account on VNeID
Decree 320/2026/ND-CP dated August 13, 2026 amends and supplements a number of articles of Decree 69/2024/ND-CP on electronic identification and authentication, applicable to agencies, organizations, and individuals related to the electronic identification system and information integration on VNeID.
The Decree applies to agencies, organizations, and individuals related to the electronic identification and authentication system and information integration on the VNeID application.
A noteworthy new point is the first regulation on Social Security Benefit Accounts on VNeID. This is identification information that allows people to integrate a payment account, e-wallet or mobile money account to receive support money, pensions, social security benefits and other legal funds.
This account is not a separate bank account. VNeID plays the role of an identification platform for people to integrate existing accounts, thereby receiving money.
According to new regulations, state agencies, political organizations, and socio-political organizations can transfer support funds, pensions, and social security from the state budget to the Social Security Benefit Account on VNeID.
From September 28, 2026, when the regulation takes effect, people eligible for pensions, allowances and social security policies can proactively create Social Security Benefit Accounts on VNeID and integrate appropriate accounts to receive money.
