On the night of September 30, Ms. Tran Thi Quynh, currently renting a house at Yen Xa auction area (residential group No. 5, Ha Dong ward, Hanoi) almost lost sleep.
Ms. Quynh said that she and her husband rented a level 4 house. From the morning of September 30 to the morning of October 1, water flooded the edge of the house. Although her belongings have been moved to the attic, what worries Ms. Quynh the most is that the flood water is too deep, so even when it rains, she still cannot go to work. Ms. Quynh is currently working as a worker at a leather shoe company in Yen Nghia Industrial Park (Ha Dong ward).

"In front of my house, the water was about 40-50cm deep, I walked carelessly and fell, not to mention riding a motorbike. Not to mention, in areas where many houses have been built, the road is bumpy and have many broken bricks... it is very dangerous. I have rented a house here for 5 years now, but in the past year, every time the flood recedes very slowly, sometimes it takes a few days to recede completely. I think the drainage ditch is already blocked, Ms. Quynh said sadly.
She could not go to work on the morning of October 1 like Ms. Quynh, Mr. Tran Nhan Linh. Mr. Linh's family is currently renting a house in Thanh Liet commune, he and his wife are both workers in Ngoc Hoi Industrial Park. On the morning of October 1, Mr. Linh woke up from the mistaken news. Although the rain had stopped, the water around his house was still inundated in all aspects.

"The children today have to drop out of school and can freely plan their own things, but their parents certainly cannot go to work because no vehicle can move at this water level. My wife and I quit our jobs because each of us took a day's work, both sparing money and being tired of the storm, said Mr. Linh.
Mr. Linh shared that his whole house was quiet on the morning of October 1, only those with unable to delay their work would go out. "The water is up to the thighs, some people even have to make vehicles from large foam boards to go to the main road. It's really boring," said Mr. Linh.
