Thirsty" for thousands of workers after Tet
Regina Miracle International Vietnam Co., Ltd. (VSIP Hai Phong Industrial Park) is currently the unit with the most union members in Hai Phong with more than 26,000 union members.
Representatives of the company's Trade Union said that in 2026, the company's orders are abundant but face a shortage of labor. This is also the general situation of many businesses in the area. Some businesses, although they have increased allowances to attract labor, still only recruit a few dozen people in a month, even though the demand for recruitment is hundreds or thousands of people. Therefore, some units have to open more branches in other provinces and cities besides Hai Phong, where there are more abundant labor sources.
Mr. Ta Dang Van - Chairman of the Trade Union of Hai Vina Co., Ltd. - informed that the company is facing difficulties in recruiting workers. "The company currently has 2 factories in Nam Sach and Gia Loc Industrial Parks, but cannot recruit 1 seamstress a day, although the company's regime is also very good (monthly bonus for the 13th month from 1-3 months' salary, Tet gifts of 1,200,000 VND/person, lucky money of 100,000 - 300,000 VND/person...)" - Mr. Van said.
Information from the Trade Union Board of Hai Phong City Labor Federation Industrial Park, as of February 27, most businesses in industrial parks and clusters in the area have stabilized production after Tet with the rate of workers returning to work reaching over 95%. However, according to statistics, 349 businesses are in need of recruiting workers after Tet, with a total number of workers needed to be recruited of more than 35,000 people.
Some businesses need to recruit a large number of workers such as LG Display Vietnam Co., Ltd. recruiting about 2,600 workers, Tinh Loi Garment Company recruiting 1,200 workers, Pegatron Vietnam needing to recruit 500 workers, Honor Co., Ltd., GreenWorks Co., Ltd. needing to add 300 workers after Tet...
Compared to the previous year, the recruitment demand of units has increased many times because most businesses have stable orders, more than 21% of businesses have increased orders after Tet. Meanwhile, the local labor force is basically lacking and cannot meet the demand.
Trade union supports businesses
To support businesses in recruitment, the Hai Phong City Labor Federation organized a job fair with the participation of more than 90 businesses, connecting tens of thousands of workers to the fair, helping businesses supplement a large number of workers at the end of the year.
Representatives of businesses all proposed and hoped that the City Labor Federation would continue to work with functional agencies to have solutions to support the connection of labor supply and demand, and organize mobile job exchanges in industrial parks...
