On the afternoon of January 17, the Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL) coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Soc Trang province to organize the program Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Deng 2025.
Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Duc Hai - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Mr. Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council; Ms. Tran Thi Hoa Ry, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council; Mr. Lam Van Man - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Soc Trang province.
Speaking at the program, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai assessed that Soc Trang province has focused on social security policies, especially for policy families, the poor, and ethnic minorities, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the people.
At the same time, pay attention to and protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers, especially during the Lunar New Year, with the motto "All union members and workers have Tet", "No one is left behind".
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly hopes that the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and socio-political organizations of Soc Trang province will continue to pay more attention to leadership, direction and close coordination with the Trade Union and enterprises to organize activities to care for policy families, union members, workers and people in difficult circumstances.
Chairman of the Soc Trang Provincial Federation of Labor Nguyen Thanh Son informed that in 2024, the provincial Trade Union at all levels has done a good job of taking care of union members and workers. 62,400 gifts were presented, with a total value of over 32 billion VND; 57 Trade Union Shelter houses were supported, with a total value of 2.8 billion VND; Welfare programs for union members and workers were given practical and effective attention.
Mr. Son said that for the Lunar New Year 2025, with support funds from the Central Government, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Provincial Party Committee, and the People's Committee of Soc Trang province, benefactors presented 400 gifts to workers, with a total value of 520 million VND.
Supported 7,326 packages for union members and workers, total value over 3.5 billion VND. Presented 56 Trade Union Shelter houses to union members, equivalent to 2.8 billion VND.
"In particular, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor supports 3,200 gifts for union members to participate in the Union Tet Market through the e-commerce trading floor, each gift worth 500,000 VND. This is a meaningful program, helping union members and workers gradually get used to modern shopping, saving time, reducing costs, applying information technology, and digital transformation" - Mr. Son said.
On this occasion, the Central leaders, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front presented 400 gifts, each worth VND1.3 million (VND1 million in cash and VND300,000 in kind) to union members, disadvantaged workers, and people from policy families, poor households, and those in difficult circumstances in Soc Trang province. The State Audit Office donated VND200 million to the Fund for the Poor in Soc Trang province.
The Standing Committee of the Soc Trang Provincial Federation of Labor presented 7,326 gifts to union members and workers with a total value of over 3.5 billion VND. Presented 56 Trade Union Shelter houses to union members with an amount equivalent to 2.8 billion VND.
