Thanh Hoa - Not satisfied with the company's implementation of bonus and social insurance policies, hundreds of workers continued to collectively stop working and gathered in front of the company gate.

On January 23, hundreds of workers of Van Ha Garment Joint Stock Company (in Thieu Hoa town, Thieu Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province) continued to stop working collectively, gathering at the company gate to demand their rights.

According to the workers, yesterday afternoon (January 22), about 200 workers stopped working collectively, after which the company paid their December 2024 salaries, and the workers temporarily left.

“As of today (January 23), all workers, about 700 people, continue to collectively stop working. The reason is that the company promised to pay the 13th month salary bonus, but it was too late. According to the company's announcement, this bonus will be paid in March 2025 (at the latest, March 31, 2025). Workers like us are hoping to have money to buy Tet, but if the company doesn't pay until March 2025, what can we do now?" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga (worker at Factory 3, Van Ha Garment Joint Stock Company) was upset.

According to Ms. Nga, in addition to the 13th month bonus, the company has also owed social insurance payments for the past 15 months, causing employees to not receive maternity pay as prescribed. This also made workers upset, stopped working and asked the company to resolve the issue.

Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on January 21 and 22, many workers of Van Ha Garment Joint Stock Company (in Thieu Hoa town, Thieu Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province) stopped working collectively to demand salary and bonus benefits. The reason for the above incident was that the company had not paid December salary, 13th month bonus and social insurance payment arrears.

Immediately after the incident, the Thieu Hoa District Labor Federation coordinated with relevant agencies to visit Van Ha Garment Joint Stock Company to record the workers' petitions, then worked with the company's representative. At the meeting, the company gave many reasons for the difficulties that led to the delay in December's salary and the lack of a 13th month bonus.

At the end of the meeting, the company's leaders decided to pay December 2024 salary, and the company will try to arrange the 13th month bonus.

According to Mr. Hoang Van Luc - Chairman of the Thieu Hoa District Labor Federation, regarding the social insurance debt of this enterprise, the authorities of Thieu Hoa District and Thanh Hoa Province will strongly intervene to ensure the rights of workers.
