Reliable support for union members and workers
The period 2021 - 2026 poses many difficulties and challenges for the country and the team of workers, civil servants, and laborers.
In that context, the Vietnam Trade Union continues to promote the role of reliable support for union members and workers. Trade union levels effectively implement women's work and family work; organize many programs to care for material and spiritual life; mobilize social resources to support workers to overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives and restore production.
Along with that, trade union levels have promoted propaganda and education on ethics and family lifestyle; raised awareness about gender equality, prevention of domestic violence; effectively implemented the emulation movement "Good at state affairs, good at housework"; built many models such as "Workers' Family Day", "Warm and loving family meal", "Collective wedding", "Summer camp for workers' children", forums and seminars on skills to build happy families, contributing to consolidating the good values of Vietnamese families in the new era.
Husband and wife are in harmony, anything can be done
In recent years, the image of Vietnamese workers has not only shined because of their diligence, creativity, and will to overcome difficulties, but also through beautiful stories of love, sharing and responsibility in each family home.
Mr. and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thao and Mr. Vuong Van Hau are both direct employees at ELENTEC Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Hanoi). Ms. Thao is from Thai Binh, Mr. Hau is from Nam Dinh; they met when working together at the company and then became husband and wife.
Throughout 11 years of attachment to the company, Ms. Thao has always strived in her work and received many certificates of merit. Mr. Hau is also an excellent employee of the production department. In the family, they share housework and take care of children, becoming a beautiful proof of the solidarity and attachment of workers.
Parents are excellent, and the eldest child, Vuong Minh Khang, born in 2016, is also very obedient and good at studying. He has won the Gold prize at the district-level VIOEDU exam for grade 3; second prize at the district-level Vietnamese proficiency certificate for grade 3; City-level Consolation prize for Vietnamese proficiency certificate; ranked T2 Violympic Vietnamese at the district level; National Math Bronze Prize TIMO; National Math Consolation Prize HKTIMO; National Math - English Bronze Prize TIMO 2025 - 2026.
Minh Khang's achievements are nurtured by the boundless love of his parents and the sharing of family work to take care of his children by Ms. Thao and Mr. Hau.
Depending on the shift, Mr. Hau cooks rice, takes care of housework or takes his children to school so that his wife can feel secure at work. Ms. Thao works during office hours, and after work, she manages the house, market, and meals. Meals for all family members in the house in Quang Minh commune are always filled with laughter.
Currently, they have their second child who is 7 months old. Ms. Thao shared that she and her husband want to raise their child to be well-behaved and study well like their older brother. For their family, when husband and wife know how to arrange time, share housework, take care of children and support each other in work, all difficulties can be overcome.
The will of a female worker mother
Among the 95 typical families of workers, civil servants and laborers nationwide in the period 2021-2026 just commended by the VGCL, there is the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien - a material loading and unloading worker at stations, warehouses, and wharves, Mao Khe Coal Company - Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited.
Ms. Lien's family and herself are bright examples of the will of a female worker. In 2017, her husband died in a work accident.
Since then, she has raised 4 children alone: the first daughter born in 2009, the second daughter born in 2011 and two twin sons born in 2015, and at the same time shouldered responsibilities on both sides of the family.
Her husband's sudden passing left a big void in Ms. Lien's heart. At that time, her twin sons were only 18 months old, the eldest daughter was in 2nd grade, and the second daughter was in kindergarten.
I wrapped up the pain and loss into memories, turning them into motivation to continue raising my children to be obedient and study hard. As a daughter-in-law and daughter in the family, I always try to replace my husband to support my parents on both sides who are old and weak" - Ms. Lien shared.
Raising 4 children to study alone is a big challenge both materially and spiritually. After 8 hours of working at the company, she takes care of and teaches her children, manages the family and always tries to arrange everything properly.
As a material loading and unloading worker, Ms. Lien always strives to complete the assigned tasks well. Despite the heavy work, she is still dedicated and actively contributes many small ideas and initiatives to improve labor efficiency.
One of her proposals is to arrange goods reasonably to optimize warehouse and yard area; collect and classify reusable materials for reuse; record and mark quickly to limit confusion and loss. These methods contribute to saving costs and improving production efficiency.
The joy that helps Ms. Lien reduce hardship is the academic achievements of her 4 children. Both daughters are good at studying and have won many awards; their twin sons have also been excellent students for many years. Family members always have a sense of training and studying, contributing to building a studious, united, and progressive family.
According to Ms. Lien, the concern and encouragement of the Group, the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited, the Party Committee, leaders, the Mao Khe Coal Company Trade Union, colleagues in the Materials Department and the families of both sides are great encouragement for her and her children to continue to strive to work and study.
Ms. Lien and her children are still striving every day to overcome difficulties, continuing to write the story full of willpower of the Mao Khe mine worker's family.
Workers like her not only complete their professional tasks well but are also people who keep the fire of family happiness, nurture human values, and make positive contributions to the community and society.
From each happy home, there will be more happy workers; from happy workers, it will contribute to building developed agencies and businesses and a stable and progressive society.

At the ceremony to commend "Exemplary families of workers and civil servants nationwide", Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour - said that the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union identified the goal of building a modern and strong working class, mastering science and technology, adapting to digital transformation and international integration. To do so, first of all, it is necessary to take care of building happy, progressive and sustainable working-class families.
According to Ms. Thai Thu Xuong, trade union levels need to continue to pay attention to family work, gender equality; promote care and support for union members and workers; build an equal and safe working environment; create conditions for workers to balance work and family.
Each worker, civil servant, and laborer family also needs to promote the good traditions of Vietnamese families, build a cultural lifestyle, humane behavior, nurture the spirit of studiousness, creative labor, so that families are truly a loving home and spiritual support for each member.
