According to the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology (CĐKHCN), from the beginning of the year to now, 144/201 grassroots trade unions under CĐKHCN have organized Trade Union Meals, reaching 71.6%, with 42,146 union members and workers participating and benefiting.
The total implementation cost is more than 4.23 billion VND, of which funds from grassroots trade union financial sources are 2.08 billion VND; support funds from other sources and socialization are more than 2.14 billion VND.
CĐKHCN affirmed that support from other sources and socialization accounts for about 50.7% of the total budget for organizing the Trade Union Meal shows the coordination, companionship and responsibility of agencies, units, and employers in caring for union members and workers.
In the process of implementation, grassroots trade unions have proactively chosen the time, location, and form of organization suitable to the actual conditions and specific operations of each agency, unit, and enterprise; closely coordinated with professional leaders and employers in the process of preparation and organization. Some units combined propaganda about the meaning of Trade Union Meals, exchanges, arts and other care activities, creating highlights and increasing cohesion.
Besides units that have organized Trade Union Meals in the past, the remaining units are expected to organize them on the occasion of the 2027 Lunar New Year, associated with activities to care for Tet for union members and workers.
CĐKHCN affirmed that the implementation of Trade Union Meals has created a positive effect, contributing to bringing the care activities of the trade union organization directly to union members and workers; clearly showing the role of representing, caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers.
Through activities, union members and workers have more opportunities to exchange and share, strengthen bonding with colleagues, agencies, units and trade union organizations; thereby contributing to consolidating trust and raising awareness about the role of trade union organizations.
