Imprints from social security and creative labor activities
Looking back at the past term, the outstanding mark of the Can Tho City Trade Union is the concretization of the spirit of great unity through sustainable social security programs, strongly oriented towards grassroots levels and workers.
Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai - Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Can Tho City, Chairwoman of the Labor Federation (LDF) of Can Tho City - said that trade union levels not only care for the material life of union members and workers through practical programs such as "Trade Union Shelter", "Reunion Tet", "Workers' Month"... but also proactively coordinate closely with member organizations of the Front to spread the spirit of sharing and mutual affection in the community.
What we aim for is not only immediate support but also to create cohesion, so that workers feel that they are always an important part of the common home of the great national unity bloc" - Ms. Mai shared. In mobilizing the Fund for the Poor, supporting people affected by natural disasters, epidemics and caring for workers in difficult circumstances, the Trade Union organization is always the leading force, showing social responsibility and the pioneering spirit of the working class.
Patriotic emulation movements, especially "Good Labor, Creative Labor", are increasingly spreading widely. In the past term, union members and workers of Can Tho City implemented more than 28,000 topics and initiatives and nearly 2,400 emulation projects and products, making tens of billions of VND in profit, making positive contributions to local socio-economic development.
Taking union members and workers as the center of all activities
Chairman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation said that the results of the past term are the foundation for the Trade Union to continue to innovate its activities in the direction of being closer to union members, closer to grassroots levels, and more practical to workers.
In the coming time, the City Trade Union will take union members and workers as the center; improve the quality of representation, care, and protection of the legitimate and lawful rights of workers.
Ms. Mai emphasized that each care activity, social security program or effective emulation movement not only improves the lives of workers but also fosters trust, increases attachment and consolidates the great unity bloc in the locality.
Ms. Mai expects the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2026 - 2031 to continue to innovate the activities of the Front in the direction of being close to the people and close to the grassroots level; listening to the thoughts and legitimate aspirations of the people and workers; promoting the role of supervision and social criticism. She hopes that the Congress will pay attention to completing policies to comprehensively care for workers, especially social housing, entertainment and cultural activities in industrial parks and export processing zones, helping workers feel secure in sticking with and contributing for a long time.
