The Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation has just organized a program to award Nguyen Duc Canh scholarships at the city level in 2025 to 300 students who are children of workers. The program was attended by Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

Buying a new pair of bicycles for children in the new school year

Seeing their children receiving scholarships, many parents who are workers are happy and moved. Parents shared that the scholarship is a great source of encouragement for their children and helps workers overcome some of the difficulties as the new school year is approaching.

Ms. Thanh Duyen - a worker in Tan Uyen ward - encountered many difficulties because her husband was seriously ill. The family's income mainly depends on Ms. Duyen's salary.

"I have two children, the oldest is in grade 2, the youngest is in kindergarten. The new school year is approaching, I am worried about buying school supplies and clothes for my children. I am very happy to receive this gift, planning to buy new clothes and bicycles for my daughter" - Ms. Thanh Duyen shared.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet (a worker in Dong An Industrial Park, Ho Chi Minh City) also has difficult circumstances when working away from home and having to raise two children to study, the eldest child is in grade 10, the youngest child is in grade 3. Ms. Tuyet could not hide her emotions: "I am very happy and grateful to the Union for the Nguyen Duc Canh scholarship. I will buy a new pair for the children".

Significant program to care for the children of workers

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, the work of caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights of workers has always been of interest to trade unions at all levels.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City trade unions at all levels have also implemented many activities to take care of the lives of workers and their children. Notably, the Nguyen Duc Canh scholarship program has been organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation for many years.

This year's program, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation awarded the Nguyen Duc Canh scholarship at the city level in 2025 to 300 students who are children of direct production workers, union members in difficult circumstances, and those who strive to overcome difficulties to improve their studies. Each gift is worth 1 million VND, 1 health check-up voucher, 1 gift, the total value is more than 2.1 million VND/gift.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - commented that this is a meaningful activity to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union. The Nguyen Duc Canh scholarship program of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation is a typical activity in caring for the children of workers.

This activity has been carried out for 31 years with hundreds of thousands of scholarships awarded. The program contributes to conveying the message to students and workers' children throughout the city, continuing to compete, achieving high academic achievements, daring to dream, striving to realize dreams, contributing talent, contributing to the country entering an era of strong and prosperous development" - Ms. Thai Thu Xuong emphasized.

Ms. Thai Thu Xuong suggested that the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation continue to strengthen family life education, providing union members' families and workers with knowledge, skills as fathers and mothers, and skills to build family happiness. Mobilize workers to actively respond to emulation labor movements, especially the good labor movement and creative labor movements.

The Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor requested that trade union officials at all levels continue to seek support from Party committees and authorities to effectively implement activities to care for the children of workers. Giving gifts to union members in difficult circumstances, examining patients for female workers

The Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation said that on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union, the unit presented gifts to 900 union members and workers in difficult circumstances. Each portion is worth 1 million VND in cash, 1 health check-up voucher and 1 gift, with a total value of 2.1 million VND/gift. Currently, 100 gifts have been given to workers in wards and communes in the old Binh Duong. The Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation also presented 240 gifts to female workers in difficult circumstances. Each portion is worth 500,000 VND in cash, 1 health check-up voucher, general examination services and gifts with a total value of 2.1 million VND/gift.
