On July 18, Area Management Working Group No. 5 of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation (Group 5 of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation) said that it had issued a document requesting grassroots unions in the area to review and report on cases of students who are children of workers directly involved in production, children of union members in difficult circumstances, trying to overcome difficulties to rise up in their studies; along with some cases of female workers in difficult circumstances.
On that basis, Group 5 of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation will synthesize and submit to the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation for consideration and implementation of the city-level Nguyen Duc Canh scholarship award program in 2025; care for female workers in difficult circumstances.
It is expected that about 100 Nguyen Duc Canh scholarships, worth 1,000,000 VND/scholarship, will be given to poor students who overcome difficulties; and 10 gifts to support and encourage female workers.
Ms. Pham Thu Huong - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, in charge of Group 5 - said that this is a practical activity implemented according to the plan issued by the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 29-28, 2025).
At the same time, through strengthening the care of workers' children and laborers; caring for female workers in difficult circumstances, contributing to encouraging workers and civil servants to stay with the trade union organization.
Area Management Working Group No. 5 directly directs the activities of commune, ward, special-zone trade unions and grassroots trade unions in the area of 19 commune-level administrative units: Vung Tau, Tam Thang, Rach Dua, Phuoc Thang, Long Son, Ba Ria, Long Huong, Tam Long, Phuoc Hai, Long Hai, Dat Do, Long Dien, Ho Tram, Xuyen Moc, Binh Chau, Hoa Hiep, Hoa Hoi, Bau Lam, Con Dao Special Zone (formerly in Vung Tau City, Ba Ria City, Long Dat District, Con Dao District, Xuyen Moc District).
This working group is headed by Ms. Pham Thu Huong - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - with a total of 12 commune, ward and special zone trade union units, with 567 grassroots trade unions and about 60,819 union members.
