According to the Hanoi Employment Service Center, the survey bulletin surveyed more than 1,000 secondary school (THCS) students with 2 grades 8, 9 and high school (THPT) in Hanoi.
Notably, the survey shows the "thirst" for practical experience and rubbing at businesses of students. The Hanoi Employment Service Center believes that the education system is leaving a large gap in practical career guidance, making students "thirsty" for direct rubbing experiences at businesses.
Many schools only focus on "passing high scores" and neglect the preparation of tools to enter life. 67.2% of high school students said they "rarely" or "occasionally" are guided on CV/interview skills. 81.7% of high school students want to participate in visits and direct observations at factories and businesses," the bulletin stated.
Especially, at the secondary school level, students are greatly and equally influenced by their families and schools/teachers. Specifically, 42.2% of students come to their families first and 42.2% choose to come to teachers/ career counselors when they need advice.
At the high school level, autonomy appears higher. 47.4% of families regularly respect their children's final career decision-making rights; 38.2% of families occasionally show this respect. A total of 85.6% of high school families have recorded respect for their children's decisions at different levels.
The news bulletin "The picture of Hanoi's labor market for students and parents in 2026" also shows alarming information when only 10.5% of secondary school students actively search online for information related to future career orientation. Most of them still have passive access to information.
