Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh (born in 1986), Secretary of the Van Duong Ward Youth Union, is one of the dynamic, proactive, and outstanding Youth Union officials of Bac Ninh City (Bac Ninh Province).
Sharing with Lao Dong reporter, Mr. Thanh said that he has been involved in Youth Union work since he was a high school student. Graduated from Hanoi Agricultural University (now Vietnam Academy of Agriculture) in 2011, he returned to his hometown and continued to be associated with the youth movement.
Stemming from working in the neighborhood, with an effort to train and the sense of responsibility, in 2017, Mr. Thanh was elected Deputy Secretary of the Ward Union, until 2019, he took the role of the Secretary of the Ward Union, and the Chairman of the Red Cross Ward. With the motto "want young people to follow him, the Union officials must be a pioneer", he always actively learns, innovates the method of mobilization and creates trust in the community.
During his 6 years as Ward Youth Union Secretary and Chairman of the Ward Red Cross Society, Mr. Thanh has organized and implemented many practical tasks through activities such as: Organizing tree planting, cleaning streets, propagating laws on traffic and urban areas, building self-governing youth routes, organizing charity programs such as giving gifts to the poor, supporting terminally ill patients, giving gifts to policy families. In particular, he and the youth union members supported people to install VNeID, electronic health books, and mobilize cashless payments...
From those activities, the volunteer blue shirt of Van Duong ward has imprinted in the hearts of people. Up to now, Mr. Thanh has donated 20 blood units, was awarded a certificate of merit by the Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee.
With the achievements he has achieved, in 2021, Mr. Thanh was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and for many consecutive years was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Provincial Youth Union Executive Committee; the People's Committee of Bac Ninh City, Van Duong Ward was awarded a Certificate of Merit.
In 2024, Mr. Thanh was honored by the Standing Committee of the Bac Ninh City Party Committee to be a typical example of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style.
Dedicated, exemplary senior cadre
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tan (82 years old, 45 years old, Party member) is a vivid testament to the image of grassroots cadres who are devoted to the people. After 30 years of working in the education sector, retiring in 1993, he returned to live in Y Na quarter, Kinh Bac ward, Bac Ninh city, continuing to contribute to the work of the Party, the Front and local unions.
From 1995 to 2023, Mr. Tan held many positions: Vice Chairman of the Commune Fatherland Front, Secretary of the Neighborhood Party Cell, Head of the Front Work Committee... Regardless of his position, he firmly adhered to the principle: "Cadres must always be exemplary and take the lead".
He is regularly close to residential areas, together with Party Cell and organizations to grasp and promptly resolve conflicts in the community, maintaining internal solidarity. Thanks to that, many cases were reconciled, not allowing complications to arise.
In the campaigns to build cultural life, Mr. Tan actively propagates and mobilizes people to participate, joining hands to build a civilized residential area, no more poor or near-poor households. Arts and sports clubs remain effective, over 98% of households achieve the title of "Cultural Family" every year. For many consecutive years, the neighborhood has achieved the title of "Cultural Quarter".
He was personally awarded many certificates of merit and certificates of merit from all levels and sectors, while his family was continuously honored as an outstanding "Cultural Family".
Up to now, even after handing over local work and returning to his family, Mr. Tan still lives a simple, friendly life, always caring, teaching his children and grandchildren to live well and contribute. His children are all cadres and party members, making many contributions to society.
