Not afraid of storms, putting resolutions into practice
Implementing Resolution No. 13/NQ-ĐCT and Guidance No. 32/HD-TLĐ of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), on May 30, Working Group No. 2 led by Ms. Thai Thu Xuong, Standing Vice President of the VGCL, visited and presented gifts to workers in An Giang. This is a series of practical activities towards the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union. Accompanying the delegation was Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province.

The working trip took place at a time when many localities in the Mekong Delta region, including An Giang, are being affected by extreme weather patterns. But with the determination to care for workers in particularly difficult circumstances, suffering from dangerous diseases, the working delegation did not mind the storm, went to the factory and walked deep into small alleys to encourage and share. The handover of "Gifts from the Congress" aims to contribute to sharing the material burden and adding motivation for union members.

The image of the working delegation braving the rain, not using umbrellas to visit workers, left a strong impression. The delegation went to An Giang Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company (AGIFISH) to directly give gifts to 3 seriously ill cases including: Mr. Do Thanh Phong, Ms. Truong Thi Kim Lanh and Ms. Nguyen Thi Cuc. Immediately after that, the delegation continued to move to her private residence to visit Ms. Le Thi Hoang Oanh, a union member of An Giang Water and Electricity Joint Stock Company who is being treated for cancer.
At the places visited, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Thai Thu Xuong cordially inquired about the illness and praised the resilient spirit of union members and workers. Despite having to bear the pain of illness, they still persistently stick to their work, maintaining their lives with an admirable spirit of self-reliance and self-esteem.
The companionship of businesses and local authorities
Not only directly encouraging workers, the visit is also an opportunity for the Trade Union organization to become more deeply connected with employers. On this occasion, Ms. Thai Thu Xuong called on business leaders to continue to pay special attention to vulnerable workers.

Contributing to making union members, workers, and laborers feel secure in their work, strengthening creativity to contribute to the stability and development of agencies and businesses is the responsibility and obligation of the Trade Union organization. Units need to support and arrange jobs suitable to the current health conditions of workers, helping them feel that they still have value, thereby having more strength to overcome illness and live a useful life," Ms. Xuong emphasized.
In response to the heartfelt sharing from the leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Mr. Nguyen Van Ky - General Director of AGIFISH Joint Stock Company sent sincere thanks to the Trade Union organization.

Before the responsible concern of the Trade Union organization, we feel that we need to have greater responsibility in taking care of the lives of brothers and sisters at the unit. AGIFISH is committed to creating the best conditions for workers, especially arranging jobs suitable for the health conditions of people with dangerous diseases, and at the same time actively responding to patriotic emulation movements to practically celebrate the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress," Mr. Ky affirmed.
This important political event also received deep attention from provincial leaders. Sharing with the working delegation, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province - affirmed that the Provincial Party Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province pay great attention to the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union. To encourage the spirit, on June 1, 2026, the province will organize a friendly meeting and give gifts to the delegation of the Provincial Trade Union before leaving for the Capital to attend this important congress.
The program "Gifts from the Congress" together with the comprehensive companionship from the General Confederation, local authorities and businesses is not only of practical material significance but also a great spiritual therapy, affirming the solid supporting role of the Trade Union organization for workers.
