More than 4.2 billion VND to implement projects towards the Lang Son border

Lang Son - The Labor Federation of Lang Son province and 3 border posts signed a coordination program to mobilize resources to care for the lives of border residents.

On the afternoon of August 19, the Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) of Lang Son province organized a conference to sign a sisterhood program with 3 units including Chi Lang Border Guard Station, Bao Lam Border Guard Station and Na Hinh Border Guard Station.

The program aims to build a regular coordination mechanism between the Trade Union organization and the Border Guard force in legal propaganda, protecting border lines and markers; and at the same time deploying social security activities, supporting livelihoods and building new rural areas in border areas.

According to the signed content, the two sides will coordinate to propagate the Vietnam Border Guard Law, the National Border Law and international treaties on borders; mobilize union members, workers and people to participate in maintaining security, order, and protecting territorial sovereignty.

Trade union levels will register to implement projects and tasks suitable to the conditions of each agency, unit and enterprise.

Social resources are prioritized for policy families, poor households, and students in difficult circumstances; building and repairing houses; supporting plants, breeds, and production materials; medical examinations, health consultations and free medicine distribution.

The Border Guard Station is responsible for surveying actual needs, providing information about the area and coordinating the implementation of civil works and livelihood models. The receipt, management and use of funds must ensure the right purpose, publicity, and transparency.

Ms. Be Thi Hoa - Vice Chairwoman of Lang Son Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Labor Federation shared that Lang Son has a border of more than 231km adjacent to China.

In recent years, trade union levels in the province have implemented many activities towards the border, supporting functional forces and people in border communes.

In the period 2023-2026, the Provincial Labor Federation coordinated to implement more than 30 projects and tasks with a total value of over 4.2 billion VND. The road construction program to inspect landmarks alone mobilized more than 4 billion VND along with materials and labor days, contributing to the completion of 23 roads.

In 2024, the Provincial Labor Federation coordinated with Na Hinh Border Guard Station to organize health consultations and free blood tests for nearly 100 officers, soldiers and people in border communes; supported 100 million VND to build roads to inspect landmarks and 100 million VND to implement civil works and eliminate temporary houses.

In 2025 and 2026, many projects will continue to be implemented such as supporting the construction of village cultural houses in Binh Xa commune; lighting village roads in Hoang Van Thu and Khuat Xa communes and lighting border patrol roads.

In addition, in the past 4 years, trade union levels have organized more than 2,600 propaganda conferences on protecting sovereignty and border security, attracting nearly 86,000 union members and workers to participate.

After signing, the units will maintain information exchange, develop annual plans and take turns summarizing and evaluating implementation results, thereby bringing sisterhood activities into depth, associated with the actual needs of people in border areas.
