On January 24, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor said that more than 700 workers at Van Ha Garment Joint Stock Company (in Thieu Hoa town, Thanh Hoa province) had returned to work after days of collective work stoppage.
Yesterday afternoon (January 23), the company representative had a meeting with the workers and promised to pay the Tet bonus, equivalent to one month's salary (13th month salary). After the company promised to pay the bonus, the workers agreed to return to work that same afternoon.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on January 21, 22 and 23, many workers of Van Ha Garment Joint Stock Company (in Thieu Hoa town, Thieu Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province) stopped working to demand their salary and bonus benefits. The reason for the above incident was that the company had not paid the December salary, the 13th month bonus and owed social insurance contributions.
Immediately after the incident, the Thieu Hoa District Labor Federation coordinated with relevant agencies to visit Van Ha Garment Joint Stock Company to record the workers' petitions, then worked with the company's representative. At the meeting, the company gave many reasons for the difficulties that led to the delay in December's salary and the lack of a 13th month bonus.
At the end of the meeting, the company's leaders decided to pay the December 2024 salary, and the company will try to arrange the 13th month bonus.
According to Mr. Hoang Van Luc - Chairman of the Thieu Hoa District Labor Federation, regarding the social insurance debt of this enterprise, the authorities of Thieu Hoa District and Thanh Hoa Province will strongly intervene to ensure the rights of workers.
