More than 90% of businesses in Hanoi have opened factories after Tet holiday

On the afternoon of February 3, Mr. Pham Quang Thanh - Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Hanoi City Confederation of Labor - came to wish a happy new year, inspect and grasp the labor situation after the Lunar New Year holiday.

95.18% of workers returned to work

At YAMAHA MOTOR Vietnam Company (Noi Bai Industrial Park), the production atmosphere is urgent from the office area to the production line. Mr. Okutani Masahiro - General Director - expressed his joy at the return to work with high determination of the staff and employees.

Ms. Ta Thi Chung - living in Pho Yen (Thai Nguyen) - just followed the company's shuttle bus to Hanoi to work the second shift, starting at 2pm, and could not hide her excitement. Ms. Chung said that she was awarded 2 months' salary for Tet At Ty. Before Tet holiday, the union and the company organized a year-end party with many gifts for the employees. Among them, Ms. Chung received a Tet gift basket with lots of candy.

“On the first day of work, we received lucky money from the department leaders. We were very happy,” said Ms. Chung. Like Ms. Chung, the company’s employees returned to work with joy because of the attention from the Union and the company. The company has about 4,000 employees. On the 6th day of the Lunar New Year - the first working day - all positions were guaranteed.

Discussing the situation of the labor force after Tet, Mr. Pham Quang Thanh expressed his belief that basically all workers will return to work with an excited spirit because the recent Tet holiday received the care of the Trade Union organization with the motto of not leaving any union member or worker without Tet. Mr. Thanh said that the City Labor Federation has directed all levels of the Trade Union to encourage businesses as well as workers to create solidarity.

According to the synthesis of the City Labor Federation, as of 9:00 a.m. on February 3, the 6th day of the Lunar New Year, 91.68% of enterprises had opened production workshops with 95.18% of employees returning to work. This is the number of employees returning to work at enterprises that have opened production. Of which, the number of enterprises in the Hanoi Industrial - Export Processing Zone opening production workshops was 356/365 enterprises, reaching 97.53% with 147,872/154,033 employees returning to work, reaching 96%.

On the occasion of Tet At Ty, the Capital's Trade Unions at all levels spent over 300 billion VND from the trade union budget and socialized sources to support union members and workers in difficult circumstances.

Stable labor relations

According to the Hanoi Labor Federation, before, during and after the Lunar New Year, the labor relations situation in the capital was stable, with no strikes or collective work stoppages. During the Lunar New Year holiday of At Ty in 2025, there were no incidents of fire or explosion in industrial parks. Some enterprises in industrial parks registered to maintain production activities during the Lunar New Year. The Management Board and the Trade Union of Industrial and Export Processing Zones have instructed and requested enterprises to ensure the rights of salary, benefits, and working hours for cadres and employees according to regulations.

In particular, in order to stabilize the labor relations situation during the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025, to care for and support union members and employees working on construction sites to work through Tet, the City Labor Federation provided emergency support to 57 union members and employees of Durian Company Limited - under the Hanoi Textile and Garment Trade Union (lost their jobs on January 15, 2025) with 2 million VND each and a gift of 300,000 VND. Directing all levels of the Union to visit and encourage employees to work through Tet. On the 29th of Tet, leaders of the Hanoi Department of Transport and the Transport Trade Union visited employees on duty during Tet and working through Tet on urban railway lines No. 2A and No. 3.1...

Regarding the average salary of employees in 2024 in Hanoi, it will increase compared to 2023. Of which, for FDI enterprises, it is 7.9 million VND; for the remaining types of enterprises, it is 7.4 million VND. Regarding the 2025 Tet bonus, the average 2025 Lunar New Year bonus is 1 million VND; the 2025 Lunar New Year bonus is 7.7 million VND.
