Diversifying cultural and spiritual activities
Mr. Le Van Dai - Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City Labor Federation said: after 10 years of implementing Directive No. 52-CT/TW dated January 9, 2016 of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee on "Strengthening the Party's leadership in improving the spiritual life of workers in industrial parks and export processing zones", the work of caring for the cultural and spiritual life of workers in industrial parks and export processing zones has been concerned and implemented by the Da Nang City Labor Federation, bringing important results.
One of the highlights is the organization of rich cultural, artistic, and sports activities, associated with major political events, holidays, and anniversaries of the country and the city.
In the past 10 years, trade union levels have coordinated with relevant units to organize nearly 900 art performances and sports festivals with scale from grassroots to city levels.
In particular, the annual Workers' Month becomes an important highlight with many attractive contents: from the "Workers' Singing Contest", elegant couple contests, folk games to workers' markets selling discounted goods to serve consumer needs.
These playgrounds not only create joy and connect the worker community but also contribute to fostering health, physical fitness, and solidarity in the labor force.
Nearly 19,456 cultural and sports activities
At the same time, art programs serving workers are also elaborately invested, with the participation of professional artists, bringing a lively and exciting atmosphere to workers.
In Da Nang, the City Labor Federation once coordinated with the Department of Culture and Sports and districts to organize rotating art programs in An Don, Hoa Cam, and Hoa Khanh industrial parks with a budget of 500 - 700 million VND per program.
This activity has truly become a valuable spiritual dish, enthusiastically welcomed by workers.
Along with that, grassroots and local trade unions have organized nearly 19,456 cultural and sports activities in the 10-year period, attracting about 985,895 participants.
The scale of operations can be large or small, but all aim to help workers relax, improve their health and strengthen solidarity.
In particular, the City Labor Federation has directed the establishment of trade union cultural activity points at enterprises, especially in areas with a large number of FDI workers.
Here, workers can read books, participate in exchanges, learn about laws, and rest after work. Up to now, 5 cultural activity points have been put into effective operation, promising to continue to expand in the coming time.
All of the above activities have shown the deep concern of the trade union organization for the spiritual life of workers. This is not only daily care, but also a way to build a new - modern, united, and humane worker culture" - Mr. Le Van Dai said.
A worthy working environment not only has a stable income but also needs a rich spiritual life. And that is also the sustainable value that Directive 52-CT/TW has gradually built over the past 10 years in Da Nang.
