Free health check-ups for 250 female union members and workers

Ho Chi Minh City - The City Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) in coordination with Hung Vuong Hospital organized free health check-ups for 250 female workers.

250 female union members and workers at businesses in Ho Chi Minh City were given free health check-ups on the morning of April 17.

Female union members and workers are directly examined and consulted on reproductive health and cervical cancer screening by the team of doctors and nurses of Hung Vuong Hospital.

Ms. Nguyen Kim Loan - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - said that on September 9, 2025, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW "On a number of breakthrough solutions to strengthen the protection, care and improvement of people's health". This is a major policy with profound humanity.

The core purpose of Resolution 72 is to create a historic change, a strong shift from "healing" thinking to "prevention" and "comprehensive health care".

This change is not only limited to slogans, but is concretized by breakthrough actions to help the health sector proactively identify and intervene early in disease risks, in addition to the goal of removing cost barriers, aiming for all people to have free periodic health check-ups and access to high-tech medical services right at the grassroots level.

Ho Chi Minh City with a large workforce, the implementation of Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW is the concretization of the action programs of the City Party Committee, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City in strengthening coverage capacity and improving access to health services for people throughout the city. The goal is that by the end of 2026, 100% of Ho Chi Minh City residents, especially workers in industrial parks, must have free periodic health check-ups at least once a year.

The Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union not only protects the rights to employment, salary, and bonuses, but must also protect the right to health of workers, being a bridge to bring the guidelines and policies of the Party, State, and Vietnam General Confederation of Labor into life.

The Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation will continue to sign and effectively implement welfare programs with leading medical examination and treatment facilities in Ho Chi Minh City to ensure that union members and workers in industrial parks and export processing zones are screened for occupational diseases and gynecological diseases at least once a year.

At the same time, it will closely monitor businesses in implementing periodic health check-ups and paying health insurance for employees in accordance with legal regulations.

Ms. Nguyen Kim Loan also reminded trade union levels, especially grassroots trade unions, to be close and promptly grasp the actual difficulties of workers. From there, proactively propose practical medical support packages, such as: supporting funding for treatment of critical illnesses for union members in difficult circumstances, or proposing to build more reproductive health clinics in industrial clusters, helping female workers have more time and conditions to take better care of their own health.

On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation also presented 250 union members and workers each with a gift worth 300,000 VND/gift. The Vietnam Women's Union of Ho Chi Minh City also presented each female union member and worker with an ao dai set.
