Labor income improves

For Mr. Thanh Dung - a worker in the Shell Assembly Department, HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., in 2024, his job will be regular, thanks to which his income will increase by an average of about 30%, plus welfare sources to help him stabilize his life better.
According to statistics from the Khanh Hoa Provincial Employment Service Center (DVVL), in the third quarter of 2024, the average monthly income of employees was VND 7,470 million/person/month, an increase of VND 175,000 compared to the second quarter of 2024 and an increase of VND 490,000 compared to the same period last year. In particular, the average monthly income of male employees was VND 7,854 million, 1.14 times higher than the average monthly income of female employees (VND 6,903 million). The average income of employees in urban areas was VND 8,322 million, 1.20 times higher than that of rural areas (VND 6,908 million).
Regarding salary in Khanh Hoa, it is mainly from 5-7 million VND, accounting for 54.32%.
“The average monthly income of workers in Khanh Hoa has improved, the number of people receiving unemployment insurance has decreased compared to the previous quarter. This is one of the positive points of the labor market in Khanh Hoa province. The labor market maintains its recovery momentum, reflected in the high recruitment demand from now until the end of the year, which is an opportunity for workers to have jobs, increase their income in the last months of the year and stabilize their lives,” informed the leader of Khanh Hoa Employment Service Center.
Tet bonus will have difference
The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Khanh Hoa province has just issued an official dispatch requesting businesses in the province to report on the situation of wages, bonuses and labor relations, and plans to pay wages and Tet bonuses in 2025 to employees.
Currently, Khanh Hoa has the first enterprise to announce Tet bonuses, HD Hyundai-Vietnam Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., with an average bonus for employees on the occasion of Tet of about 35.2 million VND/person. Tourism enterprises in the area have also been busy planning Tet bonuses for 2025, which are expected to be higher than in 2024.
A representative of Novotel Nha Trang Hotel shared that in addition to the Tet bonus which is the monthly savings of employees, the company and the union will also give bonuses to union members and employees depending on the results of each person's work and will increase compared to 2024.
Besides workers in the tourism, service, industrial production, and seafood industries, which are expected to have higher Tet bonuses than in 2024, some businesses are restructuring their operations, and businesses affected by the lack of orders in the world are facing difficulties.
According to the leader of French Style Women's Apparel Development Company Limited, in 2024, the production and business activities of the unit continued to be severely affected because the company's garment products exported to the European market were almost frozen. The company was forced to cut its workforce to more than 500 people. Therefore, during this Tet holiday, the company's leaders also tried their best to be able to get a bonus to encourage workers to make efforts for 2025.
In 2024, Khanh Hoa has 216 enterprises reporting on Tet bonuses. Of which, 162 enterprises have Lunar New Year bonuses with the highest being 50 million VND, the lowest being 100,000 VND; the highest Lunar New Year bonus is 390 million VND and the lowest is 200,000 VND. The average Lunar New Year bonus in 2024 in Khanh Hoa is 7.695 million VND/person.
