On September 17, leaders of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) said that the unit had just held a ceremony to announce the decision to establish 60 grassroots trade unions (CĐCS) in the area.
According to Mr. Bui Hoai Nam - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation, this is the result of the peak period of implementing solutions to develop union members and establish grassroots trade unions in the third quarter of 2026.
Since the beginning of the year, trade union levels in the province have established 135 grassroots trade unions, admitting more than 5,600 union members.
In the third quarter alone, 60 grassroots trade unions were established. Among them, there are 4 grassroots trade unions at foreign-invested enterprises; more than 2,300 workers joined the Trade Union organization.
Accordingly, there is one grassroots trade union belonging to a Korean enterprise with the highest number of newly admitted union members, with more than 230 people. Nha Trang and Ninh Hoa wards are 2 localities that established many grassroots trade unions of enterprises during the peak period.
Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Phuong - Chairwoman of Nha Trang Ward Trade Union - said that there are still many businesses in the area that have not established grassroots trade unions. However, the review is difficult because the Ward Trade Union apparatus currently has only 2 people.
Ms. Phuong proposed that higher-level trade unions build a comprehensive database on workers, helping ward trade unions conveniently connect, mobilize the establishment of grassroots trade unions and develop union members.
In fact, some units still have the situation of overlapping trade union organizations or have been established but have not been fully updated.
Similarly, Mr. Huynh Trong Quan - Chairman of Dong Ninh Hoa Ward Trade Union - said that the area has many newly established businesses, including units that use a large number of workers as subcontractors for shipbuilding enterprises.
Meanwhile, trade union human resources are still thin, and labor data is not sufficient, causing difficulties in mobilization work.
Mr. Bui Hoai Nam emphasized that union member development must be linked to improving the quality of trade union activities.
Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation is building an ecosystem for the Trade Union to support and quickly answer questions and recommendations from workers.
Trade union levels need to focus on negotiating and incorporating clauses that are more beneficial than legal regulations into collective labor agreements to better care for workers.
In the last months of the year, Mr. Nam requested trade union levels to proactively develop Tet care plans for union members and workers from the beginning of October; and at the same time study ways to operate closer to workers and businesses.
The ward trade union is proposed to study and develop collective labor agreements according to similar industry groups. Thereby, improving the effectiveness of caring for workers.
In addition, trade union levels need to promote the digital transformation emulation movement, contributing to improving productivity and income for workers.
