On May 14, the Can Tho City Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) said that the unit will organize the "Men's Football Tournament among union members and workers (ĐV, NLĐ) of Can Tho City" in 2026.
This is a practical activity to celebrate the 136th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2026); Workers' Month associated with the Action Month for Occupational Safety and Health in 2026 and to celebrate the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, term 2026 - 2031.
The football tournament is also an opportunity to respond to the campaign "All people practice physical exercise following the example of the great Uncle Ho" and "Day for the health of workers" in 2026. Thereby, creating a playground for union members and workers to show their talents; exchange and learn experiences and strengthen solidarity and attachment.
According to the organizers, the tournament will include many attractive prizes. In which, the champion team will be awarded a cup and will be sent by the Can Tho City Labor Federation to participate in the 2026 Vietnam Public Sector Football Tournament organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Teams winning first, second, and third prizes will be awarded medals (gold, silver, bronze), souvenirs and cash prizes.
The 2026 Can Tho City Men's Football Tournament for union members and workers is expected to take place on 2 days, the 16th and 17th. 5. Grassroots trade unions are responsible for coordinating with unit and business leaders to select and send athletes to participate in the Men's Football Tournament; creating conditions in terms of time and funding for athletes to participate in training, competition and mobilizing union members and workers to cheer.
At the same time, they are responsible for managing athletes in training sessions and competition time regarding security, order, style, ethics and health.
