Trade union officials are the core of the emulation movement
More than 24 years attached to the podium, Dr. Le Thi Bao Chau (Head of the Faculty of Agriculture, Can Tho College of Economics and Technology cum Head of the Propaganda and Women's Affairs Department of the school's grassroots trade union), has left a strong impression with a series of works, topics, and practical initiatives.
Prominent is the "Recirculating Essential Oil Distillation System" - an initiative that won the Second Prize at the city level and the Third Prize nationwide at the 7th Self-made Training Equipment Competition in 2022. Not only stopping at the theoretical model, this device has increased visuality, helping students quickly absorb knowledge, form vocational skills and create great interest in teaching and learning.
Stepping into the field of technical teaching - which is considered a strength of men - the female PhD possesses a very unique perspective. She confided: "Women have advantages in keen observation, patience and meticulousness. This is the "key" to forming practical initiatives.
Looking back at the journey of more than two decades, to realize her creative passion, Ms. Chau emphasized the school's mechanisms in encouraging lecturers to be creative. In particular, the grassroots trade union (CĐCS) is always a solid support, regularly mobilizing resources to support officials, union members, and workers to develop their expertise and realize their ideas.
Mr. Chau Minh Tan (Chairman of the Grassroots Trade Union of Can Tho College of Economics and Technology) said that in the past time, patriotic emulation movements at the unit have increasingly developed both in quantity and quality. In which, trade union officials are the core in spreading the spirit of passion and creativity in the collective.
Based on the achieved foundation, teacher Tan affirmed that in the new period, the school's grassroots trade union will continue to promote the emulation movements "Good Labor, Creative Labor" at the unit by linking emulation with the school's political tasks, concretizing the content into initiatives, technical improvements, diversifying propaganda forms, strengthening individual commendation for breakthroughs and replicating typical examples, combined with the movement "Good at state affairs, good at housework".
Thereby, improving the quality of teaching and learning, practicing thrift, applying technology, and creating a friendly, positive, and effective working environment, improving the quality of training, providing society with a quality workforce, contributing to school development.
More than 28,000 topics and initiatives from grassroots levels
According to the Can Tho City Labor Federation, in the period 2023 - 2025, emulation movements among union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers (CNVCLĐ) were widely deployed and maintained regularly, with many forms of innovation, suitable to grassroots practices, becoming an important driving force to promote labor productivity, ignite initiatives, technical improvements and build a safe, disciplined, and responsible working environment; and at the same time affirm the role of the Trade Union organization, UM, NLĐ in the development of the city.
The focus is on the movements: "Good labor, Creative labor"; "Good at state affairs, good at housework"; "Serving the cause of industrialization, modernization of agriculture and rural development"; "Emulating to study and improve educational and professional qualifications"; "Green - Clean - Beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene", associated with "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style".
Accordingly, the whole city has more than 28,000 topics, initiatives, over 200 "Skillful Mass Mobilization" models, along with thousands of emulation projects and products, bringing benefits of tens of billions of VND. At the same time, commendation work is carried out promptly, creating motivation to spread among union members and workers.
