The important thing that Thai Nguyen Trade Union identifies is not "doing many activities", but innovating the way of doing things to operate truly effectively, substantively and create a spread among union members and workers.
First of all, it is to innovate the leadership of building trade union organizations. The Provincial Labor Federation focuses on consolidating and improving the operational efficiency of grassroots trade unions, focusing on leading the development of union members, establishing grassroots trade unions in the direction of proactively approaching businesses, directly propagating and mobilizing employees and employers about the role and benefits of trade union organizations and the responsibilities of employers in establishing trade unions at enterprises.
After arranging the organizational structure, the Provincial Labor Federation quickly stabilized the organization, built an operating model suitable to new requirements; assigned officials directly in charge of grassroots levels by region to strengthen grasping businesses and workers. In the period 2023 - 2025 and the first 5 months of 2026, Thai Nguyen province established 199 new grassroots trade unions with over 47,000 trade union members.
In the process of renovation, Thai Nguyen Trade Union strongly shifted from administrative direction to serving union members; from widespread movement deployment to focusing on depth and practical effectiveness; assigning specific tasks associated with the responsibility of the head. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Labor Federation regularly maintains a direct working mechanism with grassroots trade unions and business leaders to grasp the situation of employment, income, life, thoughts, aspirations of union members and labor relations, especially before and after the Lunar New Year holiday, Workers' Month, and the founding day of the Vietnam Trade Union.
Along with that, trade union activities have also been innovated in the direction of being closer to grassroots levels, increasing interaction and being suitable for union members and workers. Propaganda work has been strongly innovated; many conferences have built visual, vivid, concise and effective video clips instead of written reports. The fanpage system and electronic information page of Thai Nguyen Trade Union have been invested in; propaganda news, articles, and videos attract high interaction, creating a positive spillover effect among union members and workers. The Provincial Labor Federation strengthens coordination with press agencies inside and outside the Trade Union organization to promote and introduce good models, practices and operational efficiency of trade union levels in the province.
Workers' Month activities, the "Weekend playground" program, the Workers' and Employees' Sports Festival, the propaganda video clip contest... are organized in a practical and close direction, creating an environment for exchange, improving legal understanding and strengthening the solidarity of union members and workers...
Ms. Hien said that the Thai Nguyen Provincial Trade Union is particularly interested in leading the improvement of the effectiveness of representative work, care and protection of workers' rights. Trade union levels focus on improving the quality of dialogue and collective bargaining; coordinating to organize employee conferences; signing and improving the quality of collective labor agreements with many clauses that are more beneficial to workers in terms of salaries, bonuses, meals, housing support, travel and other welfare regimes. Care programs continue to be directed to innovate, strongly focusing on grassroots levels, focusing on union members, workers in difficult circumstances, workers at non-state enterprises and industrial parks. Practice shows that when the trade union is truly close to workers, caring for the most practical needs, the position, prestige and attractiveness of the trade union organization are clearly enhanced.
From practical operations, the Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Labor Federation said that the Provincial Labor Federation has some proposals and recommendations to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and competent agencies to pay attention to some contents.
In which, soon amend Regulation No. 301-QD/TW dated June 9, 2025 of the Secretariat on functions, tasks, and organizational structure of agencies of the Provincial and Commune-level Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees according to Article 14 of Regulation No. 20-QD/TW dated April 8, 2026 of the Central Executive Committee on the implementation of the Party Charter. In which, pay attention to arranging provincial-level agencies for socio-political organizations and specialized departments to advise the Standing Committees and Executive Committees of organizations.
Soon have specific guidance on the organization and operation of industrial park trade unions, commune and ward trade unions, special zones; and at the same time clearly define the position, role, functions, and tasks of this type of trade union in the new organizational model.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor is interested in developing training programs, fostering, and training according to each trade union official title; and at the same time building a set of standard and unified textbooks and materials to improve the quality of training and fostering trade union officials in the new situation.
